A happy fathers day to all the dads on the board! Have a cold one! You deserve it

I lived in Brussels when I was a kid, so I have a big soft spot for Belgium. Sad to see them play like donkeys.

Raptora you can as well rest now. Trossard got the same accident stamp/brush on the calves by an Iran player. Just a foul, no checks on VAR. I hope to remember this for when next you bring the Messi incident up as a reason Argentina didn't lose.

Belgium are so poor.

KDB fouled twice by 39 minutes asking ref for more protection.

You couldn’t make it up.

Someone tell me again how Maradona fouled 23 times in one game by the same player wouldn’t walk this modern football.

Yes, WEagle, I’m looking at you my friend.

Rice, Saka and Saliba will need to be used as sparingly as possible in the first four months of the season. Our incomings need to support this.

Our squad depth needs to be expanded further. Again.

I'm good with Odegaard being sold. Was a huge fan of his signing but his influence has regressed the last year or two and like with Havertz his age and his contract means that sooner rather than later we have to either sell or give him a new contract and I just don't see how you can do that.

yes let them go now. Need to be forward thinking

20+ years ago when coaching at very low level there wereparent and kid conversations about why the women were good and the men not. My standard response was England, Germany Italy etc men have played for a 100 + years we didn’t even have the game in most high schools until the 80’s. The game didn’t exist where I lived as a kid.

So I would say between now(2000) and the 2020’s it will be up and down. We will look. Good look bad win games against big countries every once in a while win our region, but we will not be good until the children of those playing today are grown and playing. The next step will be when kids who could be nfl, nba, and high level d1 players decide to play soccer instead.

Alex Freeman is to my knowledge the first. His father was an all pro receiver. A very good player. There are more coming. In another few years the 🇺🇸 will be competitive at the highest level. Not there yet, but we are so much more athletic than in the past.

If Soccer in the US attracted the top-tier native athletes-- the game would progress quicker here. But that's never been the case. The best athletes here choose US football, basketball, and baseball.

As far as a profession-- the average annual salaries play into that equation as well.

NBA: $10.45M

NFL: $3.2-5.3M

MLB: $5.34M

EPL: $5.3M

-------

MLS: $350-400k

-----------

Only the best play in the Premier League.

There are but 5 US players in the PL at present.

No argument. Things change.

Brilliant goal by Iran. Very clever. Jover would be proud...and it's offside

Sweden really did finish last in a group that contained Slovenia, Switzerland and kosovo. Got only 2 draws and lost the rest. Wow. Had to look that up.

Meanwhile, Iran 1 up against Belgium. Un-fucking-real

VAR rules it out. Smh

Sweden finished dead last in group, was handed a dubious coefficient lifeline, played Ukraine in playoffs on neutral grounds ( war) and Poland in a predetermined location in Sweden even though Poland finished runners up to the Dutch.

A horseshoe up their ass doesn’t begin to describe the amount of good luck getting here.

@HandofArsenal

🚨EXCL : Arsenal will officially open talks with Aston Villa to sign Morgan Rogers in the coming weeks. There is a real willingness from the English Champions to get a deal done at a reasonable price. Fee will be the key. Personal terms are no issue at all.

-------------------------------------

It seems we have chosen Rogers. I am cool with it as long as the price is reasonable. This also means we shouldn't sign that Tzolis guy. We need pace if Martinelli leaves alongside Trossard. If it isn't Barcola alongside Rogers, it needs to be someone like Nusa at the very least. We can't have Rogers + Tzolis as LW options. We would starve ourselves of pace.

Let's see how well the USA does...they're pretty good but there are a LOT of good teams...

Poch may be able to work some magic with these guys...

Hope so

First. England's position at this world cup. I'm rooting for England

You're being generous.

With France and Argentina on fire; Spain playing their usual technical tiki-taka; and Germany and the Dutch playing efficiently; it will take a lot of hardwork from England to win it.

But who knows???

This tournament is one of the most interesting one I've watched in a long time.
