Just a quick post today…
USA USA USA, it’s all I’m hearing around these parts. Then Zlatan pours gasoline on the fire by suggesting they could win the World Cup. America’s sports causals are locked in, we’re about to witness two weeks of some of the most obnoxious takes you’ve ever heard. You thought all the celeb fans coming out the woodwork for Arsenal was bad? This is the HOME of big celebs. We’ll have Tom Cruise talking about growing up a Portland Timbers fan, we’ll have Timothee Chalomet permantly in our timeline, they’ll have AI bringing back famous American’s from the dead to wish the boys good luck.
It’s going to be a spectacle…
The way they’re winning these games feels a little bit like the year Conte took Spurs to top 4 with Own Goal as the third top scorere, but honestly, I’m happy for them… the build up to the World Cup was dreadful, but now we’re here, it’s absolutely immense.
I do think there’s a lesson to be learned from the firehose of the internet. I’ve been watching London Burning content for the last year on my feed, knowing that it’s utter nonsense, and I’ve had relatives sending me the same about America. All these fans that have come out here, been welcomed in every state, and have a damn fine time experiencing all the wonders are proving that the internet is a diabolical judge of the reality on the ground.
Speaking of reality on the ground, I walked through a farmers market today with my kids, wearing and Arsenal shirt… my word, 8 people spoke to me about the glory of Arsenal. Quite amazing that the reach goes 13,000 miles into a Farmers Market that sells $9 cold brew.
I don’t really have too much for you today. I am trialing making slides for the data dumps I’m doing. Here are two from the podcast yesterday, if you like that kind of stuff, let me know in the comments. I know it’s hard to read on the videos, and most of you just listen in.
The big story that has hit more of the mainstream now is that Arsenal are chasing down Morgan Rogers and he couldn’t be in a better place to hear about the wonders of Arsenal than the England camp. I have no idea what the number is going to look here, but it must be big, The 23 year old scores loads, makes a bunch of a assists, and he’s as rugged as Declan Rice. Does this number push to £100m as well? Who knows… but he does feel every bit an Arsenal player. I just hope that the daring gives with Arteta. Don’t need him coming here and going all Jack Grealish on us.
Looking around the World Cup, it would seem that Martinelli now might actually be the man for Carlo. Raphina pulled up with an injury that seemed bad. But… Martinelli came on and looked really good. He hit the bar and was part of many great moments of play. He looks fit, composed, and ready to score 10 goals and create an auction for his services in the summer.
Kai was part of a German side that went 1-0 to Ivory Coast. Some smart subs from Nagelsman saw the German’s turn it around and win 2-1. Kai was part of the build up for their first goal. Deni Undav, the Stuttgart 29 year old, scored a brace. He’s looking every bit the Spurs player this summer. Two great takes.
ExNewcastle winger, Almiron, was the first player of the World Cup to get a red card for saying something foul under his hand. Kind of a mad thing to do if you’ve been told, but someone has to push the boundaries, and get zapped to f*ck. Poor Miguel. Hope he said something disgraceful. Imagine if he was like ‘luuuurve you tattoo sweet cheeks.’
Finally, dreams of Sweden battering every team in sight, with Gyokeres earning himself a move to PSG too a stutter step with the shot going very wide. Sweden were HAMMERED 5-1 by a very clinical Dutch side. Viktor was actually pretty decent in moments, but the defending from Sweden was really quite shite. Sweden, if we’re honest, shouldn’t be near the World Cup, they finished bottom of their group… but, those shirts are so nice, that navy one? I could pass as Swede. I might do it as a kink, see if antyone addresses me in the native tongue.
Watching Spain get back to wallopping teams and seeing Merino back out on the field of dreams.
Ok, that’s me done, see you laaaater… x

Let's see how well the USA does...they're pretty good but there are a LOT of good teams...
Poch may be able to work some magic with these guys...
Hope so
The worldcup will be won by Norway
