This was such a joy to watch. Away fans are always class. But hearing them that loud as soon as they knew the City game was done was so good.

I went to see Morrissey at the 02 last Saturday evening. The vibe in the bars around the venue was joyous with Smiths classics ringing out. Fans excited to finally get a chance to see a hero for the first time in a long time. Of course Morrissey is much maligned, cancelled figure who doesn't fit the picture the media want to paint but never the less he remains hugely important musically and does things like sell out the 02, because his fans love him regardless.

The gig itself was largely disappointing. Morrissey still sounded great but he chose to play a setlist that didn't include many of the classics I had grown up with. But......you know what? He was still magnificent. Still had that aura.

Which brings me on to Arsenal, much maligned in the media, and those in the know with some even calling for parts of their game to be cancelled. People moaning, not appreciating the huge impact they have, even if you don't like current style. Despite the lack of Henrys and Bergkamp types Arsenal were utterly magnificent and much like coming out of the 02 at the weekend I'd found a way to appreciate them even more.

There is a light that never goes out! Much love. Lets go.

Now, am breathing better. Feeling like a deer that had just been released from a trap.

Toda is a pain free day.

Dunno why people are concerned about what many of these these failed and arrogant managers keep spouting!

They've always been ridiculously biased against us and many of them would hug an electric transformers when we eventually win the EPL and UCL!

It's concerning how dire our performances are but if it's what will take us over the line so be it

Arteta respose to the whinging hurtzeler at the presser after was perfect”.” What a surprise “ if you go back to all his previous matches youll hear the same thing”.excellent.

Sensational evening. Let’s dare to dream of the Quadruple Plus — 4 Cups and Spurs going down.

Watched the highlights of Villa vs Chelsea and it genuinely could have been 7 or 8 instead of 4 - 1. People still pointing to Emery as our savior still cracks me up. Even if Arteta doesn't get over the line Emery was never it. Not at the top anyway. His teams in the run in are always funny. They get battered by everyone. He just can't buy a win when he needs it like he did with us finishing 5th. Same for Villa for a few seasons now.

I really don't care how we do it from here. This is the run in. Performances don't matter from here. Results do.

I will still want better football next season though. I am actually not enjoying the football. But I will enjoy a win and City dropping points at this stage of the season.

And the amount of people crying about us gives me a bit of joy. I had to watch prime Mourinho take over from the Invincibles. They did whatever it took. We played pretty football for years under Wenger and we always fell short. We were called all sorts of names under the sun. It is nice to be the villans on the eyes of everyone for once.

Positivepete's avatar

Yeah they were happy to give us back handed compliments under Wenger & his kiddie teams but laughed when we got undone by roughhouse tactics & dark arts.” Men against boys” & all that shit.now the table have turned & they don’t like it one little bit.f ** k em all!

Yep. It is a joke to see that from everyone else. I can criticize it as a fan of Arsenal from an entertainment and sustainability perspective. But opposition criticizing it again and again when they can't even beat us is hilarious to see.

Pedro, Pedro, what a great post.

There are two Old Arsenal's. The free flowing Wenger version and The British Bulldog 1-0 to The Arsenal version.

Mystic called our performance "disgraceful".

In the words of that great sage and philosopher, Kevin Keegan, I'm absolutely "loving it".

Maybe he should go to turkey and get another hair transplant instead of complaining about our style of play, looks ridiculous

Fck the haters. I will be praying for anti football 1-0 wins the rest of the season just to irritate them more.

Wow, arsenal being hammered for being boring. What a load of crap.

I shouldn't really lower myself by even addressing that accusation but I will.

It's over 20 years since arsenal won the league and quite understandably Arteta is taking a pragmatic approach.

He understands the importance of getting this over the line by any means necessary.

That's it ...no risks, no fuck ups and hopefully no attention being paid to the naysayers, the spoilt brats, the party poopers.

It's cold blooded professionalism.

Felix's avatar

Totally.

Arteta knows precisely what tools he has in his armoury (and what he lacks), and he knows precisely how to get the best out of them.

Is there a Spurs troll on this thread? Awwww. I do have a little sympathy. It must be so traumatic being a point above relegation .

I’m not in the Gyokeres fan club and he was certainly back to his non existent self yesterday. BUT it is worth remembering he too has been chasing lost causes up front all season as well as Rice and Zubi. He too must now be gassed and I’m personally grateful he does it selflessly and without breaking down. Because without him we would probably be playing kids in that role.

That said, we do need to see Jesus coming off the bench a bit more. Last night we could have done with Kai in midfield and Jesus up front. We probably need to against Mansfield.

City are such bottlers. Liverpool are such bottlers.

Touché

I like that there were toys flying out of the pram after our draw with Wolves, then they draw with City at the Etihad with some great goals.

Also while our match was like week old porridge, our attacking when it actually happened was from open play.

Stand up if you’re Arsenal :-)
