The Zubimendi deal is getting a lot of attention, even though it was all but agreed last summer. The 25-year-old Spanish 6 is an excellent addition to the squad—made even better if Thomas Partey can sign a new deal and maintain his fitness and some muscle memory in our starting XI.
The thing I like most? We snatched him away from Liverpool. Real Sociedad didn’t want to lose their entire midfield last summer, so Arsenal did a backdoor deal to secure Zubimendi for this season, which allowed them to say no to Martin Edwards and Liverpool.
