If we get through the semi's, I don't fear either of PSG or Bayern. Will be totally different game for them. In fact, if we're at full strength with Saka, Havertz, Timber etc starting, I'd fancy us. I would say that though. 😁
To put it simply, it's one of the biggest nights in our history. We've massively underachieved in Europe for a long time. Let's correct that and win this thing. Much of the post I agree with. If anything last night's game gave me confidence. They aren't doing that against us.
George Graham was the master. It's fine Arteta playing the way he does but now (this season) it's time to deliver. No excuses.
Too much is being made of last nights game as a ‘defensive disasterclass’.
It was a breathless and incredibly intense encounter between the two best attacking teams in the world. Maybe not 5-4 but lots of goals were predicted prior. The sheer depth of attacking prowess on display was a joy to watch.
Can’t help but feel people are jumping to the defence of, well, defence football because it’s the style we now employ. If it works for us and we win the CL, great. But blimey, it ain’t half exciting and fun to watch a game like that last night if what you are usually only exposed to is what is mainly stodgeball in the PL.
You’d likely get bored if you only watched niche art noir films or whatever, occasionally you need the odd Fast and Furious film in your life!
Bayern and or PSG are absolutely battering us IF we beat Madrid that's not even guaranteed. I'm sure Simeone will have something to say about it. We have 0 attack Havertz is done btw. Have some realism.
Now can luck be on our side hell yes. Could Gyok find a small bit of form hell yes. I just detach dreaming and enjoying the game from reality. I wouldn't put my house on us winning but I'd put a tenner down on us winning out of hope
Wow, bet you're fun at parties. Come on bro, that game last night was pre-season levels of defence. It was basketball. Neither of those teams will do that to us, not even close.
Everybody thought inter's organized and compact defence will have them a chance against PSG till they were romped 5-0 in the final. The highest winning margin ever in a UCL final match.
I'm pretty sure we'll see better defending against Bayern/psg but what I'm worried about is if we can see any attack at all going by our last 2 months of play. Those teams attack can easily score 3 goals against our "solid defense" if Bournemouth with lesser quality players can score 2.
"Arsenal are the only unbeaten team left in the tournament, we’ve averaged 2.2 goals per game, we’ve conceded 0.42 goals per game, our keeper averages just 2.34 saves per game. Arsenal have scored 119 goals this season in all comps, more than City, 6 short of PSG, only 3 teams ahead of us. "
I am pretty sure if we break down the stat most of the goals would come in the first half of the season. These days we played like zombies. We couldnt even beat the likes of Southamton and Bournemouth for fuck sake. So presenting stata like this is misleading.
"We’ll do to Bayern what we did to them in December and if we play against PSG, we’ll actually have our best players available, so it will not be the same tie as before, and we’ll make that xG count, because they won’t have Donnaruma to save them this time"
Well if I remember correctly, we only missed Thomas Partey. It's not like we were crippled with injuries lol. Plus PSG had a lot of chances over two legs. Yes Donnarumma made some saves, but dont pretend PSG played like underdogs in both games.
So according to this propaganda puff piece, we are playing a superior brand of football to that of PSG and Bayern. Naturally, there would be no excuse if we get spanked by them, right? Or if that happens, will the money and farmer league excuse be used again?
Extraordinary piece! This really puts into perspective how good of a season we’re having, where we’ve come from and how much of an opportunity we have; truly excited for tonight, thank you, Pedro! 😄👏
I would play Martinelli as a striker today. We need someone who can connect with the wingers and he has speed to aid counters.
Even if we lose, we should ensure the final score leaves us a chance to qualify via the second leg.

Come on you Gunners!

All i want to see from The Arsenal is a confident and controlled game with no mistakes.
If we can leave the Metropolitano stadium with a draw or a 1-0 lead, we will be in a very good position.
What we cannot do tonight is underestimate AM. They will be a tough.
So come on The Arsenal!!! Let's make history!!!

Haha let's see
After watching psg vs Bayern (fuck Bayern I'm glad they lost), I haven't lost hope, but I am definitely not confident should we make it to the final.
I do feel, if we get through the first game against AM unscathed, and then can come out firing at home, we are more than a match over 2 legs.

I very much prefer a 1-0 win over a 5-4 win
Yeah if we had the same scoreline the narrative will be different.
COYG!
goodnight
