The chances of us signing Vini is very low. But this does send a message to anyone that is looking at us. We are already a force with what we have been doing in the PL. We are getting closer and closer in the UCL too.

That is a concern, because we appear to be reverting to the Wenger era when it comes to
making decisions and completion of process.
Arsenal are League Champions with a very good first string team and squad. We do not need to make wholesale changes, but there are two positions in starting lineup which need upgrade.
I would like to see the club being more proactive in their decision making. Lets be honest the
type of players we are or should be looking at are top of the scale and will not be bought cheap.
If we are interested in Guimaraes we should have gone in for him at the same time or before
Gordon and Tonali were sold. He is not going to be sold cheap now.
Similarly we have to be realistic if we want to buy players of calibre of Vincius Junior, Barcola
and Alvarez. These players are not going to be sold cheap. They are at a level above Anderson and Rogers and more importantly playing for major Champions League Teams.
I would hope that Arsenal can finalise at least one transfer from this group by the end of this
week so that they can travel with our squad on overseas trips.

I’ll assume nothing will come of this until I see him on the .com, but one point re his salary - he’s a bit different from other 100m players in that he’s got way more star factor commercial pull than 99.9% of players (irrespective of what anyone thinks of the player of his personality)
This is a guy who is going to sell a metric tonne of shirts and would pull in millions of fair weather fans who are attracted to star name power alone.
When you set that hypothetical income (whatever it may be) vs the cost it’s quite a different outcome vs if you value him the same as other ‘non star’ players.
I can’t recall what Jesus is earning but if you can sell him for 15m you’ll have covered most of his wages for year on the sale, plus the freeing up of Jesus’ wages frees up probably the rest for this season. Add in commercial pull and him helping us to win more trophies and frankly he probably does justify signing if all clubs and the players can agree
Sell Nelson and you’ve probably covered half or more of his salary for the season after too…

I was really commenting on a top six club in Europe, Inter, letting go of a star player in their mid-20s.
The Swiss Ramble shows we haven't got anything like it money wise even over a 4 year deal.Also he would disrupt the wage structure of the club.
