Sounds like we’re getting Berta as DOF

Honestly no idea how good he is but I am glad we aren’t promoting from within as I fear any internal hires (or TR7) will be subservient to Arteta

To be clear, that’s not me shitting on Arteta, rather just it’s IMPERATIVE that the DOF works with his own autonomy and power. They have to have a strategic vision. Taking power out of artetas hands isn’t to undermine or cripple him. It’s to empower him to focus on coaching, tactics, fitness and selection with 100% of his focus

Ultimately arteta will leave sooner or later whether due to firing from failing or due to an expiring contract or because he wants a new challenge. Giving a manager too much power knowing how temporary they are is just inappropriate these days

I recall Pedro writing a few months back that Arsenal is run like a brains trust. Everything meticulously planned and analysed to the last detail. Ha! The reality is it’s like some crap public sector body. Heavy on the PR and wokery whilst chaotic and clueless. Edu and Ayto and latterly Arteta have presided over a disastrous transfer regime in the last 4 years. Yes there have been one or two gems…Timber is tidy….we overpaid for Rice he’s good but not a £100m player ….but mostly it’s duffers. Did Jesus really raise our game? No. Zinc…doubtful? Like any crap politician the club will not hold its hands up and say it got it wrong. It will dig deeper. You can expect another Calafiori, another Merino, another Havertz this summer. The Havertz transfer is the cherry on the top. £70m and £300k a week for a no impact player. A player that the only thing fans can say positive about him is his “unseen running”. What to the bank? The only winners in the transfer market over the last 8 years have been Chelsea. Giving us their crap players. We are completely inept as a club. This needs to be called out not with anger shown and not buried with round of clapping for a 2 yard back pass in our own penalty area when we are 1-0 down and chasing a game with walking football.
