Pedro,

Sit down man, and lay off the hopium.

What do they say about dealers, never do your own stuff.

Mosquera looks shaky as he was not playing alongside Saliba, Gabriel or Timber.

pup really rotated today and knows it is not realistic to expect the win the quad either as he has been there before with way better teams, and came up short, and they will too this year. He is saving the players from themselves and timing their performances to win something big.

One game at a time, and may Arteta strategize out maximizing our performances with a strong emphasis on getting it across the line in the one's that matter.

No FA or caribou cup would be good enough to save his status or job if he does not get it over the line this year in league all things considered.

If Cala, Ode and White can't get healthy that means our backline will almost have to play all possible 17 games unless Mosquera, MLS, Dixon or Salmon get some minutes.

Do not like that scenario, as Rice, Zubi and Timber look shot, and Rice was/is damn close to going pop, and Timber from 75 minutes on looked slower than Gyoal.

Bit more good news, per the dot com post-game presser-- Mikel indicated the substitutions for both Tross and Cala were less injury, more a small issue. Subbing them off was a proactive move.

"Both of them, they had little niggles, they weren't comfortable to continue. And we knew that this could be a possibility, especially in the conditions that we're playing today. So, we have to take them off."

If so, that's a relief. Mansfield gave us a good run-out. Call it a productive day.

He said that about White and Ode too, and Cala before them.

Tross has been subbed out many games lately too.

My first reaction-- is not to infer we're being lied to.

Run with that.

Am just going by what I see, don't care about words or updates, no inference needed.

Also Pedro, I think Mosquera had his confidence shaken a fair amount by the Brighton game. It was a tough fixture for him to come in for due to their high press and the fevered atmosphere for that game. It's a great experience for him to endure right now and he'll certainly come through these tests a better player.

Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, I'm not sure what's happened to the latter. He doesn't look anywhere near as sharp as he did earlier in the season and we have to let him leave gracefully in the summer. With only one year left on his deal and a 265k weekly wage, it might be hard to move him unless there's a Saudi option. Possibly our best option will be a loan with us picking up a chunk of his wages. The tabloids will make it sound like there's a bidding war but there most certainly isn't.

Martinelli is a different story. He was pretty dreadful in possession today but his hunger off the ball and willingness to make gut bursting runs late in games makes him a valuable squad member. My preference is to move out Trossard (Arteta might disagree but the timing is right for him to leave this summer) and Gabriel Jesus but keep Martinelli as a backup left winger. He can even do a serviceable job on the right if Bukayo and/or Noni are out of action.

Obviously, it comes back down to finding a top-notch left winger during the summer. There's a lot of clamour to buy another Centre Forward but our greatest need is on the left. With Semenyo off the table, the obvious choice is Rafael Leao. He's 26, on a relatively low salary (estimated 100k per week) and two years left on his contract.

Apparently, this is the only time in Premier League history that two teams have a viable chance of winning the Quadruple in March. I'll happily give City the Caraboa and F.A Cups if we can take the other two!

Not on your nelly, Bac! I ain't giving them sh$t! We want it all!

Not me Bacary...I'm greedy...I want ALL 4 of the trophies.

Just imagine all the abuse we'd get then!

BacaryisGod's avatar

If that happens, we'll all be saying 'Invincibles who?'!!

Loved seeing the game and Max, Salmon and Dixon...exciting times for everyone!

I tuned in late but that Dixon kid. Wow

I agree BA...he did well and seemed pretty robust against Mansfield's cloggers.

He'll be 19 in May...I hope we see more of Jaden Dixon in the coming months...

Oh yeah...we need all hands on deck now especially if we are going into the last few minutes of games with a 2 goal lead. Bring some of these kids on to kill momentum and quieten nerves.
