My main issue with Arteta is not that we have not won any major trophy yet (it took Fergie 10 years to win the league with ManU), but that we are playing unattractive football.

Realistically, Villa should have qualified and then supposedly the Geordies would have had to make an important sale. That was our plan in luring Isak but it was always a stretch.

Now with Newcastle qualifying, we should look at Villa and pick someone we like from them. From what I've read they are in big trouble regarding PSR. They basically went all in with the hope of getting back-to-back CL seasons. It didn't happen so they'll have to sell someone soon in addition to Duran's sale that helped a ton.

We should get Ollie for £40-45m with wages in the region of £150k pw and move our focus to LW and AM.

Comes down to haggling - I appreciate that we want to get a good deal but at some point you have to make a decision, we’ve never been quick to close out deals and it’s cost us. Seems that our ‘war chest’ 🤮 may not be all that some people were suggesting.

The Athletic

If it is to be Sesko, RB Leipzig would prefer an early sale. That would grant them clarity and time to help their rebuild this summer. Having missed out on the Champions League qualification, there’s also a financial shortfall for the German side to meet. Sporting CP’s Gyokeres, however, may be the cheaper overall package. Arsenal must weigh the price alongside a number of other criteria before making a final decision.

Although Gyokeres and Sesko appear foremost in the club’s thoughts, there are also other names under discussion: January target Watkins has not been discounted entirely, although Arsenal would have the same reservations on price.

In the wide areas, Arsenal have also explored a number of options. Senior figures at the club have held talks with 29-year-old Leroy Sane, who is out of contract with Bayern Munich this summer. Sane also has interest from Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in England. The expectation has been that Sane, whose family are happy in Munich, would renew with Bayern — but Arsenal are an alternative if the German international decides to move on.

Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford caught Arsenal’s eye, but as The Athletic reported on Monday, he has decided he wants to join Manchester United.

Arsenal’s interest in Nico Williams is longstanding, while the coaching staff are also keen admirers of Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. The numbers associated with a hypothetical deal for the Brazilian international, however, would be challenging. Anthony Gordon is another who Arsenal like, but who would command a high fee.

_______________________________________

So basically, they like Sesko but he'll be more expensive than Gyokeres and Watkins. Then there's the Sane rumor. It's quick maffs, really. If we go for Sesko, a compromise will be made somewhere else, hence the reports we might not be getting another offensive signing but the CF.

I'd much rather Watkins + whoever the fuck they decide, say Rodrygo, than Sesko and fkin Sane.

"Your eye for talent is shit mate" - your head is stuck so deep up your own ass you're totally out of the loop.

It's really laughable seeing guys lose their heads due to rumors and ckickbaits from sources who have linked Arsenal and others clubs to countless transfers which never materialized for decades!

Arteta, yeah, I wish I could corner him in a pavilion and give him a sucker punch!

Fit most part of last season I thought he deserves to be bludgeoned to a pulp. But, that's the unreasonable me! When am rational enough am aware he's as concerned as I am about Arsena not winning any trophy!

So, I won't decieive myself stropping and petulant non stop on a blog and pretending to be more knowledgeable about building a winning team.

I don't know any big and serious club that would lay bare their transfer strategies and list of to buy players in media! But here we are with our supposed Master Fans falling over themselves when cons pretending to be transfer insiders cook up lies that we often know how they end.

Wirtz was reported to be a done deal for Liverpool causing many to wish Arteta dead here but has the deal been officially confirmed?

Arsenal are taking the best approach to the TW and am certain it'll be one of our best.

Arteta knows he's rapidly becoming a laughing stock and needs to redeem himself by winning a significant trophy next season.

Let's be a bit positive!

Except the media knew we were after Rice months and months before we bid for him. Same thing for Partey, Jesus, Zinchenko. Also the Garcia fella, Mudryk, Caicedo that didn't come to fruition. Some were a surprise and got done quickly like Fabio and Havertz.

Our transfer targets have been known for a year plus lol.

Defender - Hato

Midfielder - Zubimendi

Winger - Williams

Striker - Sesko and Isak

If you have something valuable that was taken from you, that is when you talk of redemption. Whatever reputation that arteta has today was simply conferred on him without any basis. How does he redeem what he didn't lose. What arteta need to do is prove his admirers right by doing what they said he can do. Win the league title.

🚨 Exclusive: Nico Williams has began initial talks to renew his Athletic Bilbao contract.

Parties discussing a salary pushing €10m, and release clause could increase should a deal be agreed. Not yet a guarantee.

Suitors like Arsenal and Chelsea see value in Williams’ current €58m clause, and he remains on their radar, but overall cost of the transfer (wage and agent fees) make it expensive.

Athletic Bilbao hoping they can tie Williams down before any offers arrive.🇪🇸

Thorough's avatar

At least Bilbao is as dumb as us. Unable to push this boy out at 58mils because of his huge salary then decide they wanna bump it up even further. The only three ways Nico Williams leaves Bilbao is to take a salary cut, leave on a free or see a club stupid enough to pay the fees and his about to be bumped up salary. That'll be an investment in the region of 150mil over 5 years.

This is utter madness!!!

For them he is worth it. If they are going to replace him, either they have to spring up a talent from the academy or find a Basque plyaer in the market. Because they don't have players who aren't Basque. That is why they pay them so much. For us he isnt worth that at all.

The Athletic

Sources close to Rodrygo state that he wants to speak to Xabi Alonso & the club before making a decision on his future.

____________________________________

So, essentially, that's what we're waiting for and why we haven't made a move other than Zubi.

As soon as we get the green or red light from Rodrygo's camp, we'll move on to our other targets.

It all depends on Rodrygo, as he would undoubtedly be our most expensive purchase this summer and the second most expensive transfer in our history.

If we manage to sign Rodrygo, we'll target a more affordable center forward like Watkins or Gyökeres.

If we don't, we'll shift our focus to Sesko and a less expensive winger.

I don't agree with this plan, but it's likely where we currently stand. Rodrygo is intended to be our crown jewel (if available) and our entire summer transfer strategy revolves around him.

There are some similarities there except that Manure are never short on money compared to Liverpool's owners that are penny-pinching.

Manure have world class income due to being one of the most followed clubs in the world.

They will sell many of Hojlund, Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, Rashford, Casemiro, Malacia, Shaw, Onana etc... Most of their team is up for sale.

Their issue are:

- Amorim had a shocking showing last season, like really horrendous

- there are always different prices for Manure compared to other clubs - vastly inflated when buying and lower than normal when selling

Amorim is the one pushing the hardest to keep Bruno at the club.

They've got 10 players to sell and 3 players - Evans, Eriksen and Lindelof, already left so they've got some wages to spare.

Hojlund out, Osimhen in, along with Cunha and Mbeumo + a couple of defensive signings and they become way stronger than they are at the moment.
