Curious about the starting 11 this Saturday. Would Arteta rest key players?

Partey is fit but really don't want him setting foot on the pitch...

MLS, Timber, Saka snd Rice should also be rested

Tierney, Zinchenko, White, Nwaneri ought to start... Even Sterling

You can be sure he's going to start sterling. But nwaneri might get another 10 minutes. He will rather play odegaard to show how good he is or play zinch to show his loyalty to him than play an 18 year old who needs to be taught how not to be in a rush to be a star.

Anyone knew something about and seen Hugo Larson, a 20yo playing in Germany? Media hyping him up as a younger alternative to Zubimendi, and a Partey replacement! Apparently worth c.£51m (~Zubimendi) having just brought for €11m less than a year ago ! Sounds more like taking Arsenal for a ride...

Personally never heard of him , and hope that Berta could buy smart, and right, this summer to realise (vs talking) club ambition, finally

Man Yoo and the Spuds have had historically bad league campaigns and should rightfully be in a relegation battle, but have been able to rotate their teams for weeks because the promoted teams have been awful

Chelsea may well win the Europa Conference but hardly a surprise with a squad that cost more than every other squad in the tournament combined and two squads that cost double ever other squad combined...

19 goals, 18 assists for Bruno Fernandes this season. In one of the shittiest Manure teams in the history. Insane.

Chavs will win Conference.

Manure will (hopefully) win Europa.

Newcastle won the Carabooboo.

City will win the FA Cup.

Liverpool won the PL.

Chances are, 5 big PL teams will lift trophies this season. If we don't manage to win the CL, we'd be some of the saddest fans out there.

So let me see-- do I have this straight?

We vie for top honors-- but don't quite scale the heights...

But shittier teams who are vying for scrap metal-- should be happy?

That they somehow had better seasons-- because they claimed wins against inferior opponents-- we should then be sad?

Sad-- we weren't competing in the EL or EConf?

That's way the f^ck out of leftfield.

With the format of the Europa League now not allowing any champions league drop outs, it has weakened substantially.

Some of the posters here may remember CG, well the Europa League has now acrually become what he used to label it, the ‘losers cup’

Who knows what that makes the conference league, the clowns cup I suppose.

Don’t worry fellas, win or lose next week Arsenal will have secured around £80m more than either United or Tottenham in prize money for the season CL and EPL combined.

That’s like winning a trophy.

Revenues will be very close to United for fiscal 24-25. Hate to say it, but if it is spurs or United, think I would prefer spurs to win. United are in the market for a striker.

But here’s the rub Tom.One of them is going to qualify for the CL & all the extra money that will give them .Thats two teams who barely hsve avoided relegation this year.Let that sink in..The new format in the EL has been mana from heaven for the jammy b’ stards.cis under the old format that crap wouldn’t have lasted 2 mins.

It is still the Europa league. But none of the UCL teams dropped down to it. It is much easier to win than it has ever been. Bodo/Glimt in the Semis, these United and Spurs teams who are having horrendous campaigns, so much so that they are in danger of finishing 17th in the league are in the semis too.

They will banter us for sure if we don't win the UCL. But the fact is, it is harder to win the FA cup now than that Europa league.

Tbh I've watched him a lot...same with sesko.....the pros is he is a good dribbler, has pace and works hard....the cons though...I don't really think he'll be that huge upgrade to gabi

Expand full comment
Habesha Gooner's avatar

He is an bit of an upgrade on Martinelli. He is more technical and he will grow in a better team like he does for Spain.

But that is the market now.

We fucked it when we allowed PSG to have a free run at Kvaratskhelia. He was the biggest upgrade. Now it is Barcola, Williams, Semenyo. All good players but not bonafide upgrades that will be game changers from the get go.

Or we go for Mbeumo.Oven ready.

Mbuemo would have been perfect if he was a left sided player. We already have Saka and Nwaneri has shown he can play well there too.

Our major problems lie on the left where both Martinelli and Trossard have had poor campaigns. Need to get rid of one and bring in a left sided winger.

You better name names

I've been commenting about Niko Williams for the better part of the season and I've never seen one YouTube compilation of him in my life

My comments are not limited to one game, I've watched at least 10 full La Liga Bilbao games this season.

He's not all that.

.....but Arteta wants him

Thought Niko was good for Spain in the Euros… you didn’t?

I’m not laying the marker down on him but he was tricky as hell in the Euros. End product wasn’t elite but I’m confident he’d improve massively under Arteta. I’d take him and Gyokeres in a second, especially if You told me Nwaneri would compete with Odegaard next year
