It’s pretty damn cold in England. Didn’t realise I’d be looking at December weather in May, but here we are, ‘good football weather’ as they say in some parts.
Nerves are starting to ramp up all over the place. We’ve gone from being very excited by the prospect of an easy home game against Burnley, to worrying that they’ll be the deciders of the biggest choke in modern football history.
This is the way… we knew we’d all feel like this… but our fears don’t change the truth: this is a managerless team that is 2nd bottom in the league.
Lost to Leeds. Lost to City. Spanked by Forest. Lost to Brighton. Lost to Fulham.
The only result they’ve had worth a mention was the 2-2 against an Unai Emery team gassed by Europa exploits.
Quite simply, Burnley are not a good team, and the chances of them taking anything from us are very low, especially with Arsenal having 8 days to prepare and having no real injury issues outside a right back that shouldn’t be getting too much trouble.
Unai Emery qualified Villa for the Champions League after walloping Liverpool 4-2. Quite an incredible achievement, especially given how poor the start to the season was. That means Man City will be playing a deeply hungover Villa on the last game of the season and they could get rolled by 4 goals.
Our last game of the season is going to be Palace, dreaming of Europa. I’m really struggling to imagine a world in which Glasner, on the way out, takes any risks with his most important players. There’s no reason to do something like that outside of optics. But the optics of losing to Arsenal after he rotated and lost to Man City aren’t quite what they were.
The real hope for all of us is Arsenal do some extreme damage against Burnley, climb above City on goal difference, and hope for a very good performance from a Bournemouth chasing an outside chance of top 6 Champions League, but certainly getting into Europe next season. They have had a very long rest to prepare for a Man City who will be facing off in what is probably Pep G’s last cup final for Man City. What do we want? Extra time. Not fussed over the result. But we need this to be a leggy game, not one that’s called after 15 minutes when City are 3-0 up.
Settling the league on a Tuesday? Wouldn’t that be nice…
But first, let’s do our job on Monday!
Right, that’s me done. See you in the comments.

Fear not! Bournemouth haven't lost to any of the top 4 in 2026. They have an outside chance of making the champions league. They will get a result from ManC. That's all we need .
I’m looking forward to hopefully the biggest week in our recent history. Every faith that we will get there!
Meanwhile I’m watching Celtic and Hearts title decider, its tense stuff!
