I do sometimes wonder why there’s a special set of rules when it comes to Arsenal transfers compared to the rest of Europe. Maybe it’s reputation, maybe it’s that most of the players we try to sell aren’t that good… but I’m just not sure right now.

Morgan Rogers is going to leave Aston Villa this summer, there’s too much smoke around the player stating his preference is with Arsenal, and we all know Villa’s finances are always on the edge of needing an infusion of mega cash.

When a European team wants a player, and the player wants only that team, we talk of player power and a lower fee. Right now, the talk is Aston Villa don’t want to sell and the number is £130m. This is crazy talk. The only reason I can think of for this deal being harder than most is that the player put pen to paper on a 6-year deal in November… which was a mad move from the player in my humble opinion.
