One of the things I’ve come to accept at the highest level of football is that big games are quite often the most boring. Great coaches, great players, and big moments quite often lead to these extremely boring defensive chess matches that are basically two teams nullifying each other’s strengths. We go in, hoping for a Roy Keane vs Patrick Vieira type affair... and we leave, wishing we could play Aston Villa every week.

This was a Perspective FC moment for me.

Liverpool are still very capable.

Arsenal still have some attacking issues we haven’t solved.

No one will look back on the point earned at home as particularly consequential this season.

Arsenal exited Block 5 of the season with 10 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss (all comps). From December 23rd until now, only one team clocked more points, and that was Aston Villa. They landed 25 points off an xPts of 15. Arsenal had the most xPts. We are the best team in the country at the moment. We are 6 points clear on January 8th. Not a monster lead, but a good one.
