I don’t know why it hasn’t crossed my mind about Kai at 8, but sounds like it worked a treat.

I do hope Mikel doesn’t get too excited and start giving him immediate 90 mins tho. He obviously has been held back for such a long time for a reason. Taken off at half time again says the same.

I don’t want to see him start against Leeds. Give him a second half or last 30 mins, fine.

Let’s build him up slowly rather than getting over excited and immediately breaking him again

On way home from game. Firstly Kairat were not good, but it was pleasing to see some attempt at urgency and incisive passing in the final third.

Havertz looked great. Glad we are managing his minutes. Hopefully he'll be fully fit soon.

Good to see Ricci and Piero get 45 each.

Good goal from Gyok. Missed another couple of chances. Reasonable link up.

Marti looked dangerous. Arteta signing no end product Noni flattered to deceive again on the other wing. Hid his face in shame after he ballooned one over the bar in the second half.

Norgaard backheel to set up Havertz for his assist for Marti goal was beautiful filth. He looked neat and tidy all night but that backheel is likely to see him benched for not passing backwards when on the edge of the opposition area.

Odegaard slowed things down as usual and was largely ineffective. Hopefully he can recover some form soon or maybe this is who he is now.

Wasteful finishing and an offside Jesus goal saw us let them hang around so we could concede our now customary give away goal in added time

So it’s Atlanta, leverkusen, dortmund or Olympiakos for us next according to TNT. Correct?

Ryan's avatar

All are a good draw for us tho I presume Dortmund would be the worst one for us to get

BUT we have got the through the super league phase as the leaders and with 8 wins. A very impressive overall set of results -

just hope we don’t have to play English teams as this is where it all goes wrong

very disappointing second half and have to say that Madueke was really dreadful. Was getting some stick earlier about him although God knows why - I didn’t buy him and it wasn’t my idea!

Consider the fact that we could have had Semenyo for that money.

We will play Olympiacos, Dortmund, Bayer Lev or Atlanta in last 16. And, assuming we win, looks like we will play Real Madrid, Inter or Man City in QF

Kpankulu's avatar

The former two have to make it to the last 16, first.

Iceman10's avatar

true.. a lot of assumptions there.

We play who is next up on the schedule - "farmers", "chavs", whoever - just a caveat.

Kai Havertz showed in 45 minutes how valuable he is to Arsenal - our unicorn player who puts in a selfless effort wherever he is deployed on the pitch.

Fully deserving of the player of the match award today.

That match was against Kairat. They have one point out of 24 😀

Good goal from Viktor and great goal from Havertz ( a fraction of being offside) and for me the longer the game went on the worse we got against a team who probably wouldn’t do well in our Division 2

Odegaard and Madueke were awful,Calafiori was certainly rusty but as the game progressed we were still looking for the perfect goal and it quite disturbing how poor we were .

Leeds next , pressure right back on .

Jonnygunner's avatar

His hand was offside Ronny- you have to be able to score with the part of the body that’s offside. You can’t score with a hand…which is why it was allowed.

Ichele Aki's avatar

Are PMGOL aware of that?

5x PL teams in top 8 wow

Tangible diffs amongst European leagues

Sporting still make top 8 without Gyokeres haha

Spuds are 14th in the PL.

Spuds are 4th in the CL.

5 English teams in top 8.

6 English teams in top 12.

But many Arsenal fans will tell you every club in the PL is shit and in crisis, and we've been so far, the best of a bad bunch and if we were actually any good, we should have already ran away with it.

Just think about how stupid that sounds and stop repeating garbage like parrots.

That’s intentionally missing the point

European clubs are also at a low eb for the most part

There are virtually no scary teams on the continent this year. Bayern and psg are as scary as it gets and both are beatable

Aside from those two, I couldn’t name one big CL team which is as good this year as it was 10 or 20 years ago. The PL is the weakest it’s been in ages and Europe is even weaker

Apart from us, none of the English teams are having a really good season. City are light years behind where they were as a club a few years ago. The less said about Liverpool the better. Chelsea are nothing special at all. That spurs are top 8 is more of a damning statement about Europe than it is about their quality

Exactly what I was thinking watching the results today….smh

When Havertz left the pitch…the innovation followed him…

Enjoying this new format?

As long as AFC do not have to play through that slog to get to the knockout games...

Yay! I have good news for you...

I couldn’t watch the game wasn’t shown fully in my country but apparently we created 9 big chances and missed six that to me is very very worrying shit games give off lots of chances but premier league level teams don’t.

We need to be more clinical
