The news ain’t good on Ben White; it looks like the England man is out for a month. Arteta spoke about overloading players in the week and had this to say after the game.
“Exactly that. He (White) hasn’t played a lot of minutes because of the previous knee issue he had. “Then the moment he starts to get some momentum, he had to play a lot because we didn’t have any other solution. “We even had to risk Willy (Saliba) today because it probably wasn’t the best call to play 90 minutes because we were buying tickets for another injury (down the line), but we don’t have anybody else.”
I buy into the idea that Arteta is sharing here because it’s true, but we get into this position because he does poor work leading up to crunch moments. I say this at the start of every season...
Rotate early, when you have options. Don’t let injuries force your hand, because eventually, that will happen.
