All that game told me is what I feared. The performance against spurs was because they were absolutely shit. Not that we were great.

The biggest problem right now interms of us fading in the end of games is the central midfield positions. Zubi and Rice look cooked. You can tell both have played 3000 minutes already. And Arteta would rather run them in to the ground than use Norgaard/MLS. If he is serious, he will have to use them in one of the Leverkusen games too. But Arteta has never been trusting of squad players until someone is injured.

Our forwards aren't playing great. Some are obsessed with Gyokeres like rap and pedro. Others with Eze or Odegaard, some with Saka, Trossard. Some don't like Noni or Martinelli. And if all of them are shit at the same time, I think there is one man to blame. I am not slandering forwards when we as a collective are doing nothing. Even if you criticize these players, Arteta built this forward line. So he has the responsibility of getting the best out of them.

Great post Pedro, and thank you for all your hard work this season!

I’m absolutely thrilled with yesterday’s result. At this stage of the season, especially while still competing in all four competitions, it’s about grinding out wins more than performances. Taking six points from Spurs and Chelsea in seven days is absolutely massive.

Now it’s about building momentum and putting together a real run ahead of what feels like the biggest game of the Mikel Arteta era - facing Manchester City in the EFL Cup Final in 20 days.

Win that, and this core group of senior players the manager either bought or developed - Raya, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Rice, Trossard, Havertz - secures their first silverware as Arsenal players (and for some, the first trophy of their careers).

It would also send a powerful message to City and everyone else - we’re here to win everything we set our minds to.
