Well, I am sad to announce that the war for the striker I wanted might have been lost… we’re in advanced talks for Viktor Gyökeres. The fee is £56m with add-ons that cover things like Ballon d’Or and Champions League wins.
The story on Šeško appears to be that the fee has skyrocketed to €90m, which is kind of insane on two levels: 1) I just don’t think you should be paying that sort of money for a raw talent; 2) his agent appears to have been absolutely screwed by a ‘gentleman’s agreement.’ Amateur hour stuff, but I’d assume some petrostate club will cough up the fee at some point.
