That cereal must taste sickly sweet Pedders because you've sugarcoated the shit out of that performance yesterday.

I must have been watching a different game because we carried very little threat even in the second half barring a few half chances, Inter looked extremely comfortable defending their lead. They also smashed the underside of the crossbar which you didn't include in your XG analysis.

It's pretty alarming how poor the new signings are looking, Merino has been very poor barring his headed goal v Liverpool, Sterling as you point out can't get near the team despite Martinelli stinking the place out week after week and even Calafiori has been hit and miss.

Not bringing in a ST given Jesus's form was always a big risk and I think Arteta was overconfident on Havertz producing the goods. While Kai has done very well in the back end of last season he was never going to be a reliable goalscorer week in week out.

It was also a poor decision to put it mildly to sell ESR, let Vieira go out on loan and only promote 17 year old Nwaneri to deputise for one of our key attacking pieces in Odegaard, we've badly struggled with creativity without him.

Very worrying times, season is in danger of collapsing if a very capable and talented Chelsea side get one over on us at the weekend.

PSG had 0.27 xG against us.

Inter had 0.40 xG minus the penalty.

In defence and in midfield we were superb in both games. In attack as well but when you don't score goals obviously something happened..

Just last night's we had:

Timber not ready for a full game.

White just back and out of rhythm.

Odegaard basically still injured.

Calafiori injured.

Rice injured.

Tomiyasu injured.

Tierney injured.

Now we've got Havertz with blood pouring from a head wound.

Red cards left, right and center in previous weeks.

Against a top club in form.

And we still dominated the game. Convincingly.

We lost and I'm so frustrated because we deserved more. We wanted to win, we tried our hardest and it didn't work out in the end. But we need to keep our calm and know that it was just one of those days in a bad fkin month. When it rains, it pours. The boys gave their absolute all. It wasn't enough. What can we do but try again next time and hope our effort is rewarded.
