LIVERPOOL SMASH MADRID
We’re not going to labor on the points too much today; this is about RAPID, spicy hot takes. But hand it to Arne Slot and Liverpool—they made Real Madrid look very, very average.
Some thoughts…
Madrid looked like a side with a 39-year-old in midfield.
A central defender who is 21 years old with a sex scandal on his mind.
They have the best player in the world who thinks he’s Ronaldo, but he’s no longer in Ligue 1 and it’s not as easy.
DANI CEBALLOS WAS ON THE PITCH.
Rodrygo and Vini Junior were both out.
They started Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz, two players that have been crying in the media about leaving.
Say it quietly, but that was a very, very bad Madrid side they played.
BI-WEEKLY REMINDER: Liverpool were ahead of Arsenal by 5 points early February this year, and there was a 12-point swing. The folk who are waving white flags need to get out of the trenches and stop polluting the airwaves with their pathetic weak-kneed behavior.
Just on Liverpool: They are on a Conte-first-season-at-Spurs run. No injuries, loads of favorable decisions, unreal fixture list, and an entire media not willing to engage with the idea that this is exactly the same pattern as last season.
NOTEWORTHY: Konate was crunched by Endrick and that might be the first major injury issue of the season.
I’m also hearing Trent to Madrid will land soon.
