Yeah let's not add to the wage bill by bringing Zinny back, maybe he could get a loan somewhere else for the remainder?

The Saka hate is uncalled for, we can all critique players but when we start messaging professional footballers to tell them what they should be doing, we've crossed a line, I would imagine this is just children doing this though.

Reports claim Declan Rice was involved in a heated exchange with an Arsenal coach at half-time during the 3–2 win over Chelsea.

Rice was said to have clashed with assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg in the tunnel, with strong words exchanged before Gabriel Magalhães stepped in to calm the situation. The moment was caught on camera inside Stamford Bridge.

Rice begins the sequence by saying 'just go,' and Gabriel steps in to say to Stuivenberg: 'Stop, please stop, please stop'.

Then, Rice blurts out: 'Oh for f***'s sake', at which point Gabriel asked him to be 'calm'.

Then came Rice's insult: 'He doesn’t know what the hell he is on about?'

The video ends with Gabriel saying: 'Calm, hey stop, hey calm.'

Forrest away with Dyche at the helm and a late kick off is always going to be a banana skin. We just need to play our stuff and be patient. We can't let them score first and we will win it a bit more comfortably.

I also can see City having a tough Manchester Derby with Mbuemo and Amad back from AFCON. If they get a result, the magnitude of that game will be amped up. We need not to wilt like we did last time against Pool, if that happens. We need to punish them.

And no to Zinchenko. What is the point? He won't contribute anything and has 150k a week wage packet with 6 months left. I would rather play Marli Salmon even if we have an injury crisis.

It's the " not let them score first" part Hab that worries me.We have a history of giving these type of sides a leg up & the crowd on our backs. It will be v.physical.Depends how much Oliver let's them get away with.

I think we are fine. It will be 10x harder if we let them score first. But even then I expect a win. We are getting the job done in so many games this season.

We have too much for Forrest not to win imo. We have a lot of players at the top end of the pitch with a point to prove. Some from the bench.

I don't expect to trash them. I don't even know if we beat them by a 2 goal margin. But I think we will win.

I think our outgoing transfers prove something quite comprehensively. What makes Arsenal world-class is the system. The system allows the net performance output to be greater than the sum of the parts. Players who leave us, suffer.

Tatti players like Eddie Nketiah, Zinchenko, or even the highly rated ESR and Fábio Vieira — once they move away from Arsenal’s structure, they fade into obscurity or look decidedly average. It’s funny how some people ever thought Zinchenko was a great signing, or that Eddie was anywhere close to being acceptable at the highest level.

Which brings me back to the real point: this underlines just how big Arteta’s contribution has been. He effectively carried an incompetent Director of Football, Mr Dick Dial Edu — his post-Arsenal record only reinforces what a leech that man was.

Arteta has taken individuals of varying quality and groomed them into a disciplined, coherent, and highly functional unit.

What’s missing, is genuinely world-class talent in the attacking phase. As good as Saka is, he’s not at the level of a De Bruyne, Salah, or Hazard — players who can consistently decide the biggest games on their own. He needs elite talent around him.

And if there is one fair criticism of Arsenal — and Arteta — it’s talent identification at the top end of attack. Our attacking additions and targets have largely been players in the average to good bracket: Trossard, Jesus, Havertz, Vieira, Gyok, Eze, Madueke….Useful players, system players — but not truly elite, difference-makers.

I hate when we play late away games. They are always the toughest imo, so I'm a bit worried about it. It's a banana skin game and we have to win it.

Under Saka's Instagram post with hundreds of likes:

"Pass to Gyokeres bro. It's called a team. Individual effort doesn't win trophies. Love man"

"Pass the ball to your teammate bro"

"Gyokeres is our striker"

Social media is full of videos blasting Saka. Arsenal's official social media is flushed with the same type of comments. They excuse their behaviour with "Being held accountable is a bad thing now?

Do you think saka is bigger than the team?"

A player with almost 100 assists at the age of 24, at the highest football level there is, the highest valued player at our club and the 7th highest valued player in the world. Our most talented academy player ever. Arsenal through and through. Humble, quiet, top quality. They are going after him.

Also, Gyokeres pushed Saka aside when Bukayo approached him to congratulate him for the goal. https://x.com/i/status/2011606219648368955 His fans applaud that behavior.

It's some sort of witchcraft. Gyokeres has put everyone under a spell.

I refuse to believe the fans of my favorite club are so engaged with a player like him, to the point they're going after our top quality players to make a point. What has the fan base of my club turned into?

As I posted long ago, Saka isn't safe, Ode isn't safe, Arteta isn't safe, Pedro isn't safe. I'll make a new prediction - the next in line is Timber with the idea how White can cross the ball better to Gyokeres.

His fans are just like him in the interview when he said he'd rather score a hat-trick (no guarantee of winning the game) than be a last-minute hero (winning the game). His fans would rather see him score and blame everyone else (Arteta, Saka, Ode etc) than see Arsenal win.

Aasim's avatar

So comparing the merit of White vs Timber is a bad thing ?

Also did YOU just say “Ode isn’t safe…..”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, at some point it becomes, let's give Gyokeres ideal conditions, instead of maximizing Arsenal's chances to win. You build around your best players, and that's the issue. His fanatical fans are convinced he's our best shot at winning trophies, as in, he's the difference maker in this Arsenal team.

And yes, I wrote that about Ode. Back when I was talking about his limitations, he also had a massive, overwhelming fan support (bigger than Saka's, rings any 🔔) and nobody would listen. It's a similar thing now, except Ode was actually performing at a high enough quality for a top 4 team and I was looking through the perspective of Arsenal becoming a dominant in the football scene. Ode is a quality player, not world class, but quality, with the pedigree to back it unlike Gyokeres.

Your "his fans" are actually Arsenal fans who wants the best for the club and team overall. If you selectively bash or support a player it's just you, don't talk on behalf of others.

raptora's avatar

The best for our club involves going to Saka's social media and spamming him with "pass to Gyokeres bro"?

Do you realize they are going to a world class, world renown, one of the best footballers in the world's pages, to moan at him not passing the ball to the worst CF in Arsenal's history in the PL era with 3 non-penalty goals in his first 1300 minutes, lower than Chamakh, Bendtner, Nketiah, Welbeck, Giroud and every single other CF.

Saka is the winger with the second most G/A in the PL history before turning 24, only behind Ronaldo.

Do you not realize how absurd that is? I know you don't.

Goonervin's avatar

Good job on selective quoting stuff that works for your narrative.

Let's do it since you love it.

"Chill tf out. Gyokeres gets FLAMED on social media and the pundits yet u don’t stick up for him.

Saka getting some polite IG comments to pass to Gyokeres because he’s a striker with a history of bagging goals is not the end of the world. Should they cool it down? Maybe. However I’m ngl and pretend there isn’t any truth to their claim. Saka should try find Gyokeres more.

Saka has honestly escaped alot of criticism this season because he’s our star boy. Gyokeres hasn’t."

raptora's avatar

Politely spamming him while their star striker brushed Saka off during the celebrations. Of course you're going to back Gyokeres and talk about criticism Saka deserves. Just wow.
