I agree with the statement that if we are going to lose a match then the Carabo Cup is the least

important.

However, our performance yesterday was very disappointing. No-one played particularly well. Our passing was sub par. Playing Havertz in midfield exposed our shortcomings in that department in absence of both Odegaard and Eze.

Playing Arrizabalaga in goal turned out to be a disaster. Leaving aside the first goal conceded

his distribution was awful.

I’ve seen in person our supposed greatest teams play shit and lose finals.i seen us play shit and win. I’ve seen us play brilliantly and lose.

Shit happens, it’s a final.

Excuses and blame game out again. We fucked it up - simple as that and it's on Arteta to set up a gutless strategy in a final. Don't try to sugarcoat it.

"I have maintained all season that the League Cup is of little interest to me as a fan"

It should be of major interest because we played our strongest team with the exception of the GK and LB. Real breached City's defense and scored 5 ten days ago. The Arsenal that beat Real has vanished and it was confirmed by loosing the League Cup and that is of major interest to any Arsenal supporter because the same team will play for 3 other trophies.

Honestly i'm taking a positive perspective on this - we got found out in a specific tactical sense that the team will now strategise and work out so that it doesn't happen again. Pep held that over us and decided to use it in this game - it's a 1-time use kind of thing. We got caught out by the withheld press and we didn't really have an answer. They identified Kepa as a non-threat and allowed him to have possession. Simple and genius, made us look stupid. But we don't let that happen again. I'd rather that weakness exposed in this game than any other remaining game this season. Just my perspective.

Short answer is that it doesn't matter that much. What does matter is that everyone seems to think we've pretty much wrapped up the league when I'm not sure that's the case at all.

The way City played today and with the attacking talent they can draw upon, it's not inconceivable they can win their 8 remaining games, including their home fixture against us. That'll put them on 85 points. If City do beat us then that will mean we'll need 15 or 16 points (depending on goal difference) from our other 6 matches. Yes, that's 5 wins (and maybe a draw). Compounding this is that City won't be worn down by Champions League participation.

After this performance, it makes the first games back probably our best chance at killing off the title race. If we can roll over Bournemouth and hope that Chelsea can raise their game to at least get a point off City, then the early celebrations will feel much safer.

Thanks for a dose of positivity to start the day! I mentioned yesterday that I am still confident we will take the premier league title. Man, the abuse I received is legendary! Fir me the main aim this season is the premier league title. Anything we get in addition will be a pleasant bonus.
