Come on, you’re not going to hold me accountable for making a huge error with one of my data sections yesterday… are you?
Outrageous.
Ok, ok, I got my Mateus’ mixed up. I put Nunes data into a Fernandes conversation. It was late at night; it happens… you want transfer crack every day; sometimes the batch will be tainted. Today, we’re talking pure Walter White-levels of hedonism.
The batch might have been duff, but the message does not change. Mateus Fernandes of West Ham really is a baller of a player, and if we’re looking at Alex Scott, then we should be paying attention to the Portuguese player who is at West Ham.
According to Gradient, he’s ranked 9th overall for central midfielders in the Premier League. There are only two 21-year-olds in the top 20 for the Premier League; the other is Kobie Mainoo.
Ranked 13th for Ball Carrying
4th for on-the-ball attacking
25th of 98 for 50/50 duels
13th for 1vs1 defending
21st for open play crossing
4th for over the top passing
3rd for through ball passing
5th for right foot passing, 32nd for left foot
11th for pressure passing
6th for overall passing in the league
Guys and gals, he’s only 21 years old, and he is putting up MEGA numbers here. If you want someone to develop in our team, this would be a very good central midfield option who would offer security, good defending, and top-level action in the final third. He does the sort of things with his passing that we weren’t getting in the final third of the season from Zubimendi. Obviously, it’s easier to do it for a team under no real pressure. Zubi won the league with Arsenal, he was immense. But if you want to build out an impressive midfield, having someone who scores bangers, moves the ball with aggressive verticality, and can carry out of trouble… well, I’d be interested.
ENGLAND was quite a good watch. I truly appreciated the Tuchel performance. The grist about the squad selection looks overblown. The only wondering I did about his starting 11 was over Konsa and Stones at centre back. But, I’ve been spoiled watching Arsenal all season when it comes to defending.
Madueke and Rice represented for Arsenal and did a great job. Rice corner kicks have gone from ‘ruining the game’ to ‘feels like crack when he’s one of your own’… no one talking about Arsenal ruining the game now, are they?
Madueke won the penalty that Kane took twice…
Declan Rice punched a low cross for Kane…
Saka gave Rashford a late game assist for a lovely goal…
Arsenal players servicing Kane like they remembered he was a Hale Ender? Lovely stuff. Saka to Rashford… honestly, Arteta should just do it, pull the trigger, bring him to the carpet we love him.
Calm down, this is just the World Cup talking
BIG news on the fixture front… we’ve been tucked up again.
Coventry at home on a Friday.
Villa away for the second game.
Chelsea at home for the third game.
Disgraceful stuff, as always, from the fixture folk who love to make the start of the season awful for Arsenal.
Can’t wait to see who City get… it’ll be a bunch of bum teams so they get a load of momentum under their new manager, you just know it.
Still, probably better we’re playing Villa away early, than getting it in December, or in April when all our players are in hospital nursing broken bodies.
Full fixture list is out tomorrow; I hope I’m embarrassed by how good it is to us… But I doubt it.
Ok, short one this evening, USA vs Australia tomorrow. I’m quite excited by this one. Two of the most brutal nations for sports fans. London Aussie scene will be unbearable if they do well. US will go so over the top if they win a second game. I actually need Australia to lose here… but they were so much fun in their first game… could be a great game!
