This is as big a signing as any forward we can make this summer. I remember last season the Fulham home game. MLS was introduced for the first time in midfield. And he is a guy that is willing to play vertically and drop a shoulder a lot more. And we played very well.
I really like Zubi. I think he is a top player. He has the pausa. And surprisilngly, over short distances he is a defensive beast as well as being an aerial duel winner. But he is a tempo controller. Some one who keeps the rhythm of a game. He isn't a vertical passer at will, though he can do it in some phases of the game. He still has a lot to offer for us.
But Bruno is MLS's qualities on steroids. He plays through man to man pressure every single time. He is a risk taker. This signing alone is likely to improve our football even with the same attackers. As Berta said, this is a signing that improves our style.
We need better attackers to take those opportunities but we have added a creator, and a build up CM rolled in to one. And he is very good defensively over shorter spans too.
I love our CM options. Rice, Bruno, MLS, Zubi, Merino. The only CM combo I don't want to see is MLS - Merino or MLS - Zubi because of legs and partnership qualities. The rest is absolutely fantastic.
Incredible signing. Seems like Arteta and team have clear priorities.
1 - Make us hated and extremely difficult to pull apart
2 - Try to get some flair if possible, but first make us unbeatable.
Bruno G signing is probably the most Anti-Wenger era signing if you consider our current circumstances. If it was 2007-2016 right now, we would have signed 3-4 CAMs.
Jesus, Benny Blanco, Vieira, Odegaard, Martinelli, Zubi... any could go. I would add Madueke to this as I don't rate him at all - typical English head down runner. I'm not going near our 2nd and 3rd keepers as who knows what is going on there. We have a lot of driftwood to clear before going near selling our academy guys.
Those guys are more of a concern for our CFO. For me, I'm more worried about starting the season with notorious stretcher cases like Benny and Calafiori. We know how that works out as we've seen it many times before. If you think of the injuries we've had in defence in the last couple of years, it doesn't bear thinking of. If we include GK in that, what do we do if Raya picks up a knock??
I know we’re all in Bruno mood right now but here’s a taste of the near future - Ozianvhuna. He joins us in Jan at age of 18 having got a reasonable amount of senior league experience under his belt already. Article say say he is a midfielder but his manager also stated he can play up front
Hopefully we've stopped overpaying for squad-level players.
I was hoping by now we would have shed at least 4-5 players, but I guess they're all loaded with huge salaries. I'm thinking Jesus, Martinelli, Ode probably.
The market is through the roof and we have maybe 7-8 players who could leave still here. Crazy.
Bruno G is a high scoring set piece player who gets fouled an outrageous amount - he could put a few more pennies in Jover’s pocket too!
There is not one aspect of the Romero rumour I like - the only part that was of interest was mugging them off for him but we’d be doing them a favour. Surely better off out of it and can’t imagine he’ll happily keep the bench warm when Saliba is back
Blimey that video. I guess it’s for the kids. Modern life, eh.
Tell you what… you have to contrast with what Wenger left behind. We have certainly built a challenger tank of a spine to this team. I think it must look a bit scary to a team thinking of how to beat us. Like facing the 8ft tall Laestragonian giants in Odyssey. That fact makes me happy :-)
Tzolis looks good. He actually has some big boots to fill. Interesting to have a low centre of gravity strong guy up front. Been a while.
If nobody else joins, we have certainly strengthened. If Jesus goes , which he should, I don’t think we’ll miss him as he played so infrequently last year, but it would be great to get in another forward. Again… there is the happy risk that one or more of the youth will have that season where they become indispensable like Saka did once.
The stumbling block with Jesus is not the asking price £20/18 million but his wages of £265K basic a week .He has a season left on his contract so this will not be easy unless the club reduce dramatically the asking price which in turn may ease the burden of his wages or of course he is prepared for a lower wage.

Let's prioritize... Jesus (265k pw), Nelson (100k), Vieira (45k)
...over White et al

Bruno G says he'd play goalie... probably more reliable than Kepa and Meslier lol
White and Calafiori first to clear all pre-season games ...
He may have to, if anything happens to Raya.
and Nelson, who should have gone years ago, of course.

What a shame a buy-back clause weren't in Madueke's contract !
He's an England international. Those fuckers are going for three figures.
Let's be realistic... €99m will do
He'd look great bombing down an air conditioned pitch in a Riyadh Warriors shirt, or whatever they're called.

Hopefully, Arteta/ Jover wouldn't stop Bruno from shooting from FKs... Don't over design set pieces....
Our set piece goals dried up terribly in the back end of last season, no? That has to be a real concern considering the way our attack plays.
The league is in trouble
Bruno’s first words were ‘I’ll be your warrior…I’ll never give up”
He’s a player that 100% exemplifies any iteration of Arteta-ball
Having Bruno and Rice in the midfield, is a league guaranteed, if we can keep them fit. Moreso with the exit of Rodri
we should set up a petition to the club from here to demand no Tottenham players unless they are truly world class. Ergo no Tottenham players.
~ Silver Jubilee since Spuds' last world class player.... big Sol Campbell !
Btw, no Chelsea rejects too...
"Bruno will wear the number 39 shirt for the club and join up with his new team mates immediately."

.. "the club" must make it clear to Jesus & agent (ditto, Vieira, Nelson) they must find another club this summer.... No ifs & buts...
Playing Jesus, Vieira and Nelson in pre-season games sends wrong a message to them/& agents !
They have to let him go for whatever the price. The main relief is getting that wage off the clubs tab.
who's next?
Jesus... to exit !
