Arteta has been great for Arsenal. He has taken us from competing for top 4 to competing for titles. The only issue is, can he take the next step? Is he going to be a winner? IF not, then we need to cut ties with Arteta. We can't wait for another 2-3 seasons to see if he will win anything. He won the FA cup but deemed the team not good enough, he has a better squad now but he still has a lot of blind spots which do not seem to be clearing up any time soon.

That rage should’ve been present and channeled 3 months ago when Liverpool first started to pull away.

If we hadn’t been sleep walking in the league for the last 3 months we’d have stayed right up Liverpool’s ass.

If we’d not handed it to them on a platter I think pool would’ve bottled it the same as they did last year when they briefly took first place. This year we just made it so easy for them. Every time pool dropped points we did too. And we dropped points elsewhere for good measure. Never had a strong PL team had the red carpet rolled out for them so easily and the way we have for them this year. Any hint of us putting pressure on them and we immediately took our foot off the gas and ceded back initiative to them. Just very meek honestly

Last season we were fantastic in the league and really laboured in the CL. This year we’ve done the opposite.

Is it too much to ask for that we compete for more than one competition in a season? We have the best squad in the league and supposed to be one of the best managers as well. But Mikel has now demonstrated 5 years in a row that we can only focus on one competition max per season. What’s the plan to fix that for next season?

If the plan is just to buy more players, that doesn’t fix the underlying issue of being unwilling to rotate and manage loads carefully it just changes which players we are beasting. We need to be much smarter than this next season

Lots of questions should be asked of Arteta if we don’t win the CL. This has not been a good season. We are closer to B’mouth in points than Liverpool and same difference with Brentford. Pathetic

The wrong thing to do right now would be to weigh in on Mikel Arteta before finding out what happens against PSG.

I dunno I think after 5+ years it's probably safe to start judging him

Even if arteta wins the ucl we should replace him.I suggest Conte,I know with him it's like selling your soul to the devil for one good season but at this point I really don't give a f*ck,the man knows how to deliver league titles and we are due one because this is becoming embarrassing. We really should have won the damn thing in 22/23.

nah, if he wins it he can stay. He has made us a competitive side again and the only thing he had to prove was if he could be a winner or not. If he wins it, he will have proven that, if he does not win it, then we need to say that he's taken us as far as he could and we now need a winner to take over.

I did say here on Wednesday that bournemouth was a banana skin and we have got Liverpool and Newcastle after this....I also wouldn't put it past ramsdale to have the best game of his life when he faces us.We are literally limping to the finish line ffs

Arsenal's performance yesterday is now becoming predictable.

The Manager selects more or less the same team which has been flogged to death and is now

grossly underperforming and more importantly making the same mistakes.

Furthermore he seems to have forgotten that you have the opportunity to bring on substitutes.

In the last two games we introduce them just 5 minutes before the end of game when they can

barely get involved in the game which is already lost.

Odegaard's performances in recent games have been awful. He is losing the ball and perhaps

more importantly his confidence is so low that he abrogates responsibility for shooting in front of goal. There was one occasion yesterday when he had ample opportunity to do so, but

basically has lost his bottle.

You have to ask why either Nwaneri or Merino were not started in this game. The reality I fear

is that Arteta has run out of ideas and he is now compounding the problems created by our

injury crisis.

Personally I doubt that we will beat PSG, because the Manager has run out of not only match

fit personnel but ideas.

The reality is that we are probably not going to finish second in league, because I doubt that

we will beat or even draw with Liverpool or Newcastle and on current form we may struggle to

do so against Southampton.

The way we are playing at moment we could finish 4th or 5th and that will be disastrous.

There have to be some very serious questions asked about Arteta's decision making at end of

season and in particular his lack of substitutions.

Also aside from maybe last season, we have finished each season under Arteta with a whimper. Lack of rotation, lack of subs, hard teamwork ethic even for all the forwards, perhaps this all has an effect on our ability to finish a season strongly.

We seem to be petering out badly again this season. That’s a pattern and a worrying one at that.

Should we fail to progress on Wednesday then and also likely finish the league season with a couple of more defeats, I think it will then be the time to seriously question whether Arteta’s race at Arsenal is run. I think there’s genuine questions to be asked about whether the players are starting to tire of Arteta’s methods. Both Guardiola and Klopp have spoken about their messages to players starting to fall flat after a period of time.

Before the PSG and Bournemouth games I would not have considered the idea of

removing Arteta.

Frankly finishing second in EPL in last two seasons was a decent progression and a reasonable expectation considering that Man City were still at the top of their game.

However, this season has been disappointing even if we have reached the semi

finals of Champions League. Frankly we should have won the league this season.

Our recruitment last summer was poor not least the failure to recruit a specialist

centre forward. Both Sterling and Neto were a complete waste of space. Calafiori

is clearly injury prone.

We have become draw specialists because we have failed to dominate and allowed

opponents back into far too many games. Sitting on a 1 goal advantage is becoming

a problem.

Odegaard's performance since he was injured is a major concern. He runs around

the field, but he has virtually no end product. Frankly he needs a complete rest at

end of season. However, if he plays next season in similar fashion then he will need

to be replaced

It’s the summer and by extension the January window which is ultimately going to be part of what Arteta is judged on. Whether the club whittled funds or not, Califiori is largely a flop this season as an injury prone back up left centre back. Can be useful when he’s actually on the pitch but those times seem to be few and far between. All in all, the money spent on him would have been far better off being invested in another forward player.

Only way I think we move forward as a club is to make Berta Arteta's boss, only then can Arteta be held accountable in footballing standards. We don't even play like arsenal anymore... Is it a myth to play attacking football and be solid defensively? It shouldn't be a case of one or the other.

A man that could accept to be a subordinate from the word go for a position that naturally should be superior is not worthy to be made arteta's boss. Every other candidate backed out when they realise they were being set up to be arteta's PA but Berta took the job anyway. Why should we now promote a guy with such a low self esteem?

Every single one of City, Chelsea, Newcastle, Villa and Forest are favourites to win their next game.

Yes some of these guys are playing each other before the end of the season but truly that’s papering over the cracks of a monumental league bottle job we’ve done this season. People can say the leagues gone and doesn’t matter anymore, but that’s also an excuse because the reason the leagues gone is because we’ve been poor all season in this competition. That’s the point

If we lose to Liverpool and the above teams all win (may not happen but an entirely possible scenario) with 2 games left, we’d have only 67 points.

City 67

Newcastle 65 with a game in hand (and yet to play us)

Chelsea and forest 63 with a game in hand

Villa 63

Let’s not mince our words here. This league campaign has been shite from us. Desperately poor from a team that got 91 points last season and could realistically struggle to hit 75 this season. We talk about the club needing to sign X Y and Z players but I’m more worried that we went into this season with a bigger and better squad than in either of our last two seasons and have gotten so much worse domestically. That’s a massive massive red flag. Win the CL this season or this is just a dreadful season based on what we’ve spent, the squad we’ve got and the performances vs the last 2 seasons

Hopefully for all our sales and to salvage the season we show up against PSG.

All the complaints from his first year in charge especially with regards squad rotation and I'm game tactics are still there which means he doesn't learn.

If you were objective and not scared because "who else is out there" or " we don't get beat by the big teams anymore and it's because of him" type rhetoric then a fair assessment after 5 seasons and no trophy would be to maybe try again with someone else which doesn't take away the incredible job he's done taking us to where we are from the pits of hell we were before he took over, it just means maybe he's taken the club as far as his abilities allow.

Liverpool came to the closest under Rodgers but didn't get to the promised land and they rightly parted ways to try something new and they've found success based if the foundation he set when he came in and got close, how much longer do we want to show our loyalty without really anything to show for it.

Our highlights this season will hopefully be winning the champions league final but if we don't it'll be 180mins against Madrid and a quite poor league campaign all of the Manager's own doing for the most part

Our only hope against PSG is setpieces. Theres No way we beat them playing high intensity open play football. Our players are spent. Partey, Saka, Martinelli cannot survive past 70 mins.

Games like last night are why I really won’t hear it that injuries and PGMOL cost us the league

What we saw last night was a close to full strength Arsenal team at home lose from a winning position against an inferior team. We’ve been doing it all season. Let’s just take responsibility for it.

I mean Bournemouth beat us home and away. What can we really say about it

I know Arteta is being skewered for playing a strong team but I see it this way - rightly or wrongly there is a case for using a strong 11 to get a confidence boosting win before PSG and effectively sealing second place. That obviously at the risk of fatigue and injuries

He rolled that dice and we still lost.

If you’re going to roll that dice it has to work. It didn’t. Poor decision
