Its time to bring back Unai Emery to Arsenal. It is now proven beyond doubt he has what Arsenal needs to lift the PL trophy. Any doubters?

Fab Romano -

"Bologna asked for Jakub Kiwior during talks with Arsenal for Riccardo Calafiori, but Polish defender’s currently not keen on the move. Calafiori keeps waiting for Arsenal. Kiwior can leave Arsenal on loan with mandatory buy clause, as reported in June."

We need to tell players like kiwior that they should go wherever, because there will be no playing time with us. Timber returning, and any new buy.

Partey's future really looks to be up in the air as per the link above from Arsenal Insider.

There is interest for him but it looks, reading in between the lines, that Partey doesn't want to move.

I am big fan of Partey (when fit) as he truly is unique when 100% match fit and offers us something that we don't have: some excellent defence splitting passes.

I suspect that the club are hesitating between letting him run his contract down and see what we can do with him or add an extra year to his contract to see if we can add value if we can sell him (and see if we can make the most of him).

Sid is doing a makeover

He's the succinct sage.

The point he's repeatedly made about how our goals tilt far too much to set pieces stands out, uncomfortable truth but truth all the same.

Agreed about the progressive distance and completed passes- Having Partey fit for preseason should help.

New away kit is out. It's the black one everyone was speculating about.

Not sure I like it to be honest

It isn't great I can't lie. The best kits are kits you can wear anywhere. The black and golden one a few years ago was absolutely beautiful. I don't know if you can say the same about this year's away kit.

I agree, I don't buy the shirts that I wouldn't wear outside in public. I think all 3 of our shirts this year have stripes on the shoulders and I don't like it. I would like away shirt without so much green/red.

Yep, I didn't like the blue stripes in the home kit. And the red and green together on the away kit isn't great to look at either.

We obviously lack the real details of the clubs plan this summer, so we can only comment on what we observe from the outside in

But I can’t help but think our transfer priorities seem backwards this summer

*supposedly* we’re in for Williams - which would be ideal - but have to sell to buy even tho he’s only 50m.

That leads me to wonder why do we seem to be trying to push through the Italian lad’s transfer first for a pretty similar price, despite him being a less crucial signing?

Surely the right approach would be to throw the resources we have at the positions we need most (forward, CM) and do luxury signings like CB last?

Instead we run the risk of having signed this CB but missing out on our forward targets because we have to sell to buy first and move too slowly.

I’d much rather have us sell to buy the CB than a forward.

I agree - signing Williams would be a massive boost to our firepower. Calafiore could be a good signing but IF funds are limited or PSR is tight, then prioritise the winger over a CB

maybe we're not as strapped for cash as we pretend?.... or maybe we're more confident in a minimum we'll get for outgoing players. I'm sure we wouldn't over estimate sales like many fans do.

They must have some sort of plan, and they certainly are keeping it quiet... rightfully.

I don’t pretend to be sure that I’ve got all the facts on this because as well we’ve seen eduteta navigate transfer windows very well recently, but I can only comment on what it looks like is happening - and it looks like a CB is our priority over a forward or CM at a time when we seem unable (or just reluctant) to spend money

I’m not gonna throw a hissy fit because I do accept arsenal might be working in smarter ways than meet the eye at the moment, I am just a bit nervous about how it looks

I simply don’t wanna hear the words ‘we wanted to but were unable to sell’ when describing signings for our most important squad roles come the end of the window

I think the timing of any Califiore and Kiwior moves (or other sales) are really important.

Closing the buy first means everybody knows we have to sell at least one because we're overloaded with left sided defenders that can't get time at their preferred positions.

The thought of adding one before offloading anybody bothers me.

Buying clubs will have extra leverage.

I asked Nigel a long time ago if he had a job, guess he turns honest tricks at the park. €17 to jerk off a German is robbery though, considering Pierre used to do it for free. Damn inflation.

Tom,

Don't lie and say that I suggested Kiwior for 40 mil. That's such a dishonest trick.

Somebody else mentioned that number and I said I'd be thrilled if we got anywhere approaching 30m. I expect a realistic price is between 20 and 25.

—————-

That’s not exactly how it went down though Nigel boy, did it.

That someone who mentioned £40m for Kiwior was Pedro, to which I replied with absolute respect we wouldn’t, and suggested recouping original fee might be closer to reality for a timid defender on the outs.

After which you assumed as your personal duty to dole out the punishment for such obvious slight calling me a clown.

€17m is the number I’ve seen since in various sources.

But look, I get it, throwing dry numbers around can be confusing, especially on top of currency conversions, so maybe this will help.

Say, your mom says to you, Nigel, honey, I think it’s time you started paying some rent for that bedroom downstairs in the basement.

What would you say to £40 a month?

To which you reply sorry mom but I only have €17 I made jerking off some German fella on a park bench last night.

To which your mom says Nigel, honey , two things:

One, you know I don’t approve of your life choices.

And two, €17 is 70% short of £40 I suggested.

Unfortunately I have to clear this up because you will be immediately lying again when Kiwior gets sold.

I'd still be super happy if we get over 25m, I just don't expect it.

Lying about people's comments is not helping you to find friends, is it?
