Good post Pedro. That result against Bournemouth was devastating and I have just avoided all social media on football since. Only way I can deal with it.

I see the dementors are out in force everywhere including posting here but then it doesn’t take much. Why the fuck are they calling themselves Arsenal fans when they’re clearly not?

Goonervin's avatar

Avoided all social media like a coward and call yourself Arsenal fan? Should have stayed hidden if you can't take the heat.

Dissenter's avatar

In the spirit of name-calling, I will reserve the "dementor" tag for you whenever you complain about Arsenal.

It seems when you express your worries, it's appropriate concern but when others do it, they are "dementors"

We knew Saka was coming back from a serious injury ad couldn't put up similar minutes to 2-3 seasons ago, yet we went to buy Madueke

He was the worst winger from both teams on the field on Saturday, all the Bournemouth wingers are better than him.

TLV gooner's avatar

Pedro,

What is your opinion on the fact that Madueke has not lived up to the transfer price tag, why didn’t we go for another explosive direct option like city did with semenyo which already have more goals than Madueke, don’t get me wrong he is nice fella but a bit of a disappointment when you take a look at his numbers compared to semenyo in terms of transfer fee the amount of games and amount of goals. Semenyo ROI is much higher and the number of games played by Madueke has been very high for a 2nd stringer , was it all down to being 1st choice. A missed opportunity right there.

Also why didn’t we let go of nwaneri, could no one would have seen this coming ?

I dont want to overlook SL but a big focus is Sunday. Do we have a game plan for City aside from Shell up and hope to nick a goal? I think we need to be smart but GO at them. They are expecting us to shell up and give them possession and press us. Do we have a player we want to target? We need to be that unpredictable, throw them off. I'm afraid however we do not have a game plan other than to "lets hit them on the counter" when we win possession type shit.

Teams have been successful against them when they do not respect them like little biatches, and have a go at them.

Without Saka who is going to provide us the firepower needed? Who will be our attackers?

I cringe if Trossard starts this game.

Iraola available in the summer now and Cesc trending upwards... some good options

Dissenter's avatar

So it's Saka's Achilles tendonitis that's the issue

He's not going to be effective anytime soon

I just can't bear the sight of Madueke ever again.

Useroz's avatar

Achilles tendonitis is messy and hard to heal 100% 😔

Mr Wick's avatar

Rumours going around that he's out for the season.

Manager has ruined him.

Dissenter's avatar

Yea, if his Archilles is the issue, the it's curtains for him.

Best if he misses the world cup too

All the foolish talk of "dark arts": when its actually broken players.

Harteta now acting like Baghdad Bob in press conferences

Even our local bob would disagree with his incongruent tone

Baghdad Bob made me laugh out loud 😂

Honestly, a gritty draw or win at City might just be enough to restore a belief which has been lacking since about the 20th minute of the Carabao cup final.

If we go into the game all meek, hoping we don’t get spanked, this is exactly what will happen.

Really enjoy the art work! Forgive me, why is it always yellow and blue? Was it mentioned somewhere?

The picture should be changed from police/ambulance car to a convertible Uber with the riders Pedro, Johnny, Matt and Jacob caricatures drinking and partying like it's 1999, heading the THE game, like the Wenger, Walcott, Ozil and Ramsey one, as it would be a win win situation a least until the next day.

The podcast was epic, had me laughing with them and the ridiculousness of our situation.

The takes were great and the dark humor actually mellowed my disgust for a bit.

Many of the things stated were so true, how in the f did we end up with Madueke and not Semenyo? It reeks of some backroom deal, like Raul used to engineer, a Kmart blue light special that AFC could not resist.

There are a few top class players within the EPL every year that can be had, but AFC keeps searching for that shiny diamond in some other league at a bargain basement price.

NOT talking about top 6 clubs, talking about 14th and below, proven and up and coming.

Definitely agree that whomever brought in Mosquera and Hincapie needs to be brought bask asap.

Damn amateur hour at this club at times, unfortunately ours is in the spotlight right now with the entire world watching and magnified by 10tothe10thX.

Saw the medical list, did anyone expect anything different at this stage?

Only positive for me: those guys get some miracle treatment and are good enough to play against $h*Ty, otherwise, the next 2 games could be brutal for us as fans to watch.

But, maybe some of the freshies can bring some energy and nick a win or draw against Sporting and set up the fight at the OK Corral that can lead us to something better, and if not, still hanging by a thread.

The EPL is tough with no easy games. Leeds went up to Old Trafford and did one on United. Yes, City are in fine form but we are more than capable of going to the Eithad and doing one on City. Let’s get by Lisbon first.

No true fan wants his club to fail, even if you think losing trust for Arteta is losing trust for Arsenal. That said we still have the faintest of faith that it will end well.

Anyways, Andoni Iraola who is few months younger than Arteta is leaving Bounemouth at the end of the season. Club tried to make him stay, but he's done....

Could be a lot of egg on a lot of faces on Sunday evening.

We are a team on the verge of the CL Semis and we are baulking at the prospect of going to the Etihad, a soulless dump with zero intimidation factor? Spare me.

We do realise that it’s entirely possible that we win this game on Sunday and restore the 9 point gap?

Go after it and shut them all up at a stroke.

Bravo Pedro

Get in that dressing room. they need you

If we harbor any hope , however faint, of getting something at the Etihad, Rice, Saka, Calafiori and Timber (& Odegaard ?) must be rested for Sporting 2nd leg, assuming their whatever problems are fixable before this weekend... Rice and Timber in particular! Arteta just have to find ways to make do tomorrow...

Being well rested, would start Norgaard vs City as a combative destroyer to try ruin whatever they do.. and put Zubimendi on toward the end if need be.

Given a choice, would rather start Dowman as RW at the Etihad, while Madueke can cintinue to confuse Sporting tomorrow !

That post reads like a warning to people criticizing the manager that'll get binned if they continue because something something we're actually doing alright.

Well mate considering you had the claws out for Emery even during a 21 game unbeaten start to a season and went everywhere from bad teeth to shit English you'll forgive me for wanting to get rid of an absolute bum of a manager who continues to have us play atrocious football and looks like bottling yet another season from a seemingly insurmountable position.

It's not up to us to believe. After nearly 7 years of this conman it's up him to give us something to believe in.

I'll never forget Pedro behaving like a little englander complaining about the foreign manager while we on 21 unbeaten run and Emery got us to a euro final.

He was giving us weekly gossip from training grounds - I thought it was troubling that we had people at the club deliberately trying to nobble our manager from within. I thought whoever was sending Pedro gossip was treacherous cnut and should have been fired.

FartOfDarkness's avatar

To be honest, that 21-game run was miraculous because basically, from memory, everything fell right for us and we couldn’t lose. It didn’t feel like we’d owned that run, rather we stumbled onto it.

Useroz's avatar

Yeah, those cut backs were almost perfect ... how we needed them now

jwl's avatar

Emery has 11 trophies, Arteta is a serial failure who has one trophy with squad that he hated and got rid off, that run of 21 unbeaten was due to Emery competence.

Habesha Gooner's avatar

That last paragraph is the entire truth. Play better football, win the games and get over the line.

Belief doesn't come from fans. It transmits from players and manager to fans.

Marko's avatar

How can you ask someone to believe when we're witnessing another bottle job in real time. It's crazy. Literally awful football and 3 defeats in 4 which should have been more and apparently it's the fans fault? Come on now

Darin Dupree's avatar

As usual very well said! Im not a real organized religious person but this week ill be asking the football gods for some arsenal love!
