I appreciate that Pedro's function is to be like any journalist a critic and play also on occasions

"devils advocate" which is precisely what he is doing in his latest post

Let's be clear both Arteta and Beta are "employees" of the club and neither is a member of the Board. So their employment is contractural and like the players dependent on performance

Arsenal has a tradition of being far more patient with their staff than most other clubs in EPL

Whilst there are some posters who would like to see Arteta sacked realistically he has performed well and above expectation UNTIL perhaps this season.

Let's be clear no-one expected us to finish top of the EPL in last two seasons Man City were

expected to win the league title. Our horizon was to finish in top four and qualify for Champions League.

This season was slightly different. It was expected that we could compete with Manchester

City for the title. The fact is neither club are going to finish top. Liverpool who spent virtually

no money in transfer windows are top dog this season and that is down to having stable,

experience and above all an injury free squad when we discuss their best players.

Arteta and Club senior management took a calculated risk in not recruiting a striker last summer when they failed to recruit Sesko This was based on our goalscoring performance

last season. Also no-one anticipated our injury record.

These two factors have cost us the league title and will need to be redressed this summer

Realistically there are only two slots in our regular starting lineup, which need to be filled

and that is a DMF to replace Partey and a goalscoring CF. Otherwise we are talking about

replacing fringe players and strengthening squad.

In my view there are perhaps eight players in current squad who are replaceable Five are

definitely leaving ie Neto, Tierney, Partey, Jorginho and Sterling. Three others who could

also leave are Kiwior, Zinchenko and Trossard. Five of these players are in their 30s

So there is scope for the Manager and Football Director to improve squad It is now up to the

management to be proactive and recruit the right players

Obviously the two priority positions are going to be expensive to recruit and that has to be

the focus of our transfer business at the start of transfer window. There must not be any

delay or messing around this time

The Athletic just confirmed that Arsenal supporters are fucked beyond believe.

● "While Arteta has not yet reached Simeone’s level of success, his influence at Arsenal is comparable. Berta’s role will have wide-ranging responsibilities, but a key part of the job will be shaping the squad to Arteta’s specifications."

Arteta has won fuck all he is the chief bottler and owns for a lifetime the trophy of being the eternal 2nd best finisher. Arteta's specifications are ample of LBs and left footed CBs plus mediocre attackers for hundreds of millions.

● "Since Arteta’s promotion to manager in 2020, the organisational structure has shifted somewhat. They were categorical that Edu was not Arteta’s boss and nor would any new appointment be."

Be prepared for hundreds of millions spent on an anemic attack and a trophy less cabinet to come.

● "Several potential candidates expressed concern, rightly or wrongly, that joining Arsenal would simply mean playing a supporting role to Arteta. For those coming from a culture where the sporting director has carte blanche, that was a worry.

Dan Ashworth was among the favourites. He has an excellent relationship with Garlick. Ultimately, however, Ashworth withdrew from the process to pursue other opportunities."

That is the ultimate definition of dodging a bullet.

Bottom line we are so fucked for years to come under Pep's cone boy. He bottled 3 successive season where we lost the title because he knows fuck all on how to set up an attack. Can you imagine Real, Barca, Bayern, Inter hoping that the competition drops points so that they can win trophies? They go out and dominate the opposition, score goals and let the competition pack their bags.

Say hello to years of pain to come, starting with nothing to play for beginning April 17th.
