Can’t see Gyökeres still being here at the end of the window. Even his biggest supporters know he can’t afford to be sitting on the bench — he needs games, rhythm and volume to be at his best. A move to somewhere like Atlético makes far more sense than fighting for minutes at Arsenal.
What I loved about yesterday is Myles. The boy doesn’t care. He’s giving me saliba vibes after all the loans. “Oh, you don’t rate me? I’ll show you what I’m about!” He’s Making it impossible for Teta to ignore him. I know it’s not the prem but we looked good. Am I going to have to stomach a massive humble pie on Martin? I hope so. I’ll have seconds and thirds if he keeps dropping them no touch turns like prime hazard.
Was it just that we had cloggers playing last year? Maybe. Biggest plus for us is everyone else is new and nobody seems to have done any decent business. Roll on Friday
If one of our midfielders is going to leave before the window, I’d much rather it be Zubimendi than MLS.
MLS imo the far more exciting player more capable of the sublime or an X factor moment. That’s not to knock Zubimendi too much. I’d want to keep both, need options over the course of a long season.
With Rodri’s exit confirmed City are losing their talisman, replacing him with Enzo F from Chelsea is unlikely to make up for the loss. Arsenal looked slick, confident and inventive yesterday whilst City just looked bereft of ideas, looking forward to Arsenal retaining their title.
Glad with the result and the performance and the business done so far.
Only issue to address is Martinelli's departure, if that does indeed go through we need to add a LW expeditiously. Cannot rely on Tzolis and Eze being a make shift LW all season long.
Martin Odegaard! - got to be honest by mid last season I’d had enough of watching his constant recycling of the ball without doing much.
Then bizarrely you noticed the difference when he didn’t play because we lacked the control (exacerbated by Gyokeres being so poor as a genuine upfield threat and not holding or controlling the ball). So there was an Odegaard effect even when he was playing badly.
Now though - oh my word the man is back. Play like that and he will quickly establish himself as the world’s most brilliant midfield general. Play like that and our creative worries are over.
All without spending 100m+ - we had this within our own resources.
So many positives but for me we still need an out and out striker .

Martinelli and Ethan watching on and not celebrating. Sad times

Not sure I agree Arteta wants MLS out otherwise he would just bench him etc
Tzolis has something special to unleash. It seems alArteta likes him.
