All the people who said this cup doesn't matter, make yourself known. I see the same people on social media ecstatic at reaching a final after saying it's not relevant. WINNING BEGETS WINNING, and our fans are in no position to dismiss the Carabao cup, since this club hasn't won anything in nearly 6 years.
This is what football is all about. A day at Wembley and a chance at silverware.
The feel good vibes from this final qualification has been crazy, Arteta captured in eloquently when he called it “ vitamins”. Arteta is a world class spinmeister.
This mere qualification has turned our season around and the vibes will carry us at least until the NLD at the end of the month.
I was expecting winning the carabao cup would invigorate us but little did I know that merely reaching a final can serve the same purpose.
Kai pointing at the cannon badge to show who’s top of the food chain in London has to be the moment of the season. To be disgraced by an ex-player like that? Brutal.
That clip is iconic now. It’s seared into the memory of both fanbases.
What an uplifting win. Taking down a local rival in a semi-final after they’ve burned through £1.5bn in just four years. I live for such moments.
Love that Pedro. I used exactly the same words at half time: Cowardly plan because they were scared after what we did to them at the bridge. I had felt no jeopardy until the last 15 when, if something does happen, its all kick bollock and scramble. On Sky, Neville said 'Rosenoir is slowly walking Arsenal to a cliff edge'. 1) what a disrespectful thing to say. No one is walking Arteta anywhere; 2) What game did he think he was commentating on. They had 90 mins to break down the best defense in the prem. And decided that actually they only needed thirty. Merse called it in the studio though.
We should not be looking at just one performance, but our form as a whole in recent games.
Realistically if you discount the Inter Milan and Leeds games we have not been playing particularly well. Much of the football has been defence centric with far too many square and
back passes and very slow build up.
Yesterday was a very similar performance to those against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and
Man United.
Our good fortune is that other teams in EPL who are our main competitors are also not playing
on top form.
Part of the problem has been disruptions to team selections caused by injuries, but that is not
the complete story. We may have a strong squad on paper but there are a number of players who have not performed particularly well this season most notably in AMF are ie Odegaard and
Eze. The recent loss of Merino and departure of Nwaneri has also added to concerns about the
midfield. On paper we have now only 5 fit players on the books in this department.
Of course there are other players who can be used in that department if needed eg Havertz, Lewis-Skelly and Trossard, but realistically our squad is limited to just 24 players who have to
Have to agree Pedro, how biased everyone was towards Chelsea when Chelsea were losing coming into this 3-2 lol. They were shit. I think the game was purposely boring from Arteta and I think the final will be too because that's how you win trophies! Arteta, finally looks like he has learnt a lesson. His form in cup competitions has been dreadful since the FA Cup win 6 years ago! Now he has reached a final at last!
A massive part of the problem is no one wants to go” toe to toe” with us for fear of a mauling.unless their chasing the game.that applies to just about the entirety of the premiership.so we need other weapons in our armoury of which we appear to have quite a few( set pieces) being one of course.the very weapon we were vilified for under Wenger.men against boys the scum like evra chucked at us.no more.and they sure as hell don’t like it.
Eze was very very poor again he hides too much doesn’t make enough effort yet also seems completely gassed and unfit.
Eze outside of two games has been a worse signing than Gyo.
Gyo I honestly don’t think he did so badly he made some very good runs and looked stronger/faster than normal but has the touch of a rapist though.
Madueke was dreadful he was kind of like a complete different version of Eze badness where was is anonymous Madueke is constantly on the ball making bad decisions and squandering opportunities.
Hincapie was pretty fucking good
he get a little stick but for a second left back who can rotate into 1st choice looks very good imo. He is physically elite and I think he plays with the right mentality he actually took a shot instead of passing backwards.
Rice might be shattered but even shattered he is the best player on the pitch he was elite defensively and progressing the ball some players set the tempo he sets the mood he keeps up honest and brave deffo captain material. Love how he can dominate in the centre on different stages of transition. That assist at the end was chefs kiss.
Zubi solid.
Timber solid.
Defence solid.
Martinelli it didn’t come off for him fully but he was a menace and on another day could have ended with a brace he is really suited to counter attacking football. I think in a proper counter attacking team he would do bits.
Trossard was solid I think he was the pre-assist for Havertz goal he was intelligent with keeping and releasing that ball.
Havertz 9/10 for me elite composure loved how he rounded Sanchez and made him scrabble and scrape.
Arsenal did what was needed last night, all we are going to remember is the Havertz goal right at the end. The type of ending you’d write if you wanted to rub it in for Chelsea fans, Chelsea being the team that used to shithouse us on the regular 10-20 years ago.
I didn't enjoy the football last night. But it doesn't matter. Cup football is about winning. And we certainly didn't need to attack yesterday considering we were leading the tie.
We locked them out. They had speculative shots from outside the area a few times but they 0 clear chances.
It was like watching Wenger's naive teams play Mourinho's title winners.
They can cry about it but what matters in the end is whether you win or not.
Kai twisting the knife was also wonderful. He is going to be a big player for us in the 2nd half of the season.
It’s gonna be a lovely day today Gunners! Enjoy the moment, enjoy the ride. From where I was last night, the fans stuck by the team, I didn’t sense the nervousness that the pundits were hoping for, and the elation at the end was joyous!
A word on Hincapié.. solid and aggressive. His best game so far. PROUD TO SAY THAT NAME.
Absolutely Pedro. Watching the game from a seat right over the players tunnel slap bang on the half way line. I was nervous we might get caught but Chelsea were awful. Should have had a penalty but that Kai goal pure poetry. He seemed so calm as he took the ball away from the keeper. So pleased I couldn’t hear any of the morons on TV slagging us off.
Liam Rosenior tried that desperate measure to leave pacy players out to blunt our set piece fc advantage.
I thought it was flimsy and may have made it easier for us, had we taken the headers that came our way
When we score a few in that scenario of managers leaving out players for fast breaks, teams will stop doing that shit .
Happy in particular for Kai
That dude has been through hell and high water
It was exactly one year since he got that famous hamstring tear recovering and resting in Dubai
He’s well loved in the squad. Players encroached the field from all angles to reach him.
That was special.
We believe

Spot on!
Last night Eze was poor on the ball but was flawless off the ball.
He’s worked so hard to adjust to Arteta’s Arsenal team requirements. He’s been programmed properly.
Now he has to regain that individuality that we bought him for
Eze typically came alive in the second half of the season at Palace so there’s real hope that come spring, he will emerge from Hibernation.

I'm still buzzing! I'm sure the players are too.

Some reflections on the players performance.

A fair reflection on each of their respective showing I think.👏
Piero Hincapie
Take a bow son.
Special mention, Declan Rice.
Nice to see those stupid Caicedo comparisons put to bed.
Yep.didnt even know caicedo was on the pitch for the first 35/40 mins.

Oh yeah.and him being the ex chav They shit on & said we were conned? “ he who laughs last ,laughs longest”.The icing on the cake.

And zero sympathy for the chavs & their bent financial doping( allegedly)cough, cough.😮💨
Rosenior basically confirmed what Pedro said.they weren’t going to go toe to toe with us at the risk of getting hammered.this in a semi final.
Absolutely Pedro. Watching the game from a seat right over the players tunnel slap bang on the half way line. I was nervous we might get caught but Chelsea were awful.
