It strikes me as a demonstrable upgrade to have Bruno in the squad. We now have the best overall midfield in the world assuming we don’t make many or drastic sales
But one thing I REALLY want to be true is that we don’t use Bruno as an excuse to abandon MLS. MLS is quality and one of our own. The season is long and grueling. The best thing Arteta can do is make frequent use of ALL of Rice, Bruno, MLS and Zubi rather than just settling for 2 or 3 of his favourites and playing them almost every game until they break then having unhappy cold players coming in for the last stretch of the season
I just really believe in MLS ultimately but if he’s not given chances I think he’s going to go on to be a quality player for one of our rivals which will be a huge miss when he’s already ours.
"Vinicius Junior REJECTS Real Madrid offer with Arsenal to ‘break the bank’
"
Vinicius Junior has reportedly rejected the offer Real Madrid have just made, with the chances of Arsenal completing the biggest signing in their history soaring.
... according to former Real Madrid striker and sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, Vinicius Junior has REJECTED Real’s offer to extend.
“Now we know what Madrid is offering him, and Vinicius has rejected it.
“At this point in the summer, with one year left on his contract, this whole situation clearly tells me that Vinicius isn’t planning to renew.”
What Madrid are offering Vinicius, per the report, is a salary of €22m per season over the course of a five-year deal running until 2021.

GOLDBRIDGE also talking about it on his YT channel....🤔🤔

Berta/ Josh, here we go 🤣🤣
BUT... hopefully rumors we'd pay him £27m pa before bonuses is BS... surely, don't need to go that far if 100% image rights is also offered?!
What strikes me is that this feels less like Arteta's transfer strategy and more like Berta's. Calm, disciplined, valuation-led and prepared to walk away until the numbers make sense.
Funny how one Ornstein tweet has suddenly become a "market correction", rather than just Arsenal operating differently.
If Bruno gets done at £75m, perhaps the biggest signing this summer won't be Bruno... it'll be Berta's approach.
I wonder if Wenger will be making a comment on changes to our transfer policy and the 'new' direction of travel.
With Raya, Rice, Havertz and Timber that literally pushed us banging on the door of the elite teams with the business of one summer?
With Jesus, Zinchenko, Trossard, Kiwior, Jorginho?
Benny Blanco, Odegaard?
We've gotten so many great deals along the years but "Arteta's transfer strategy" is now an issue and god bless Berta?
Berta is being praised for Bruno when Kia Joorabchian brokered the deal and it was in the ear of Newcastle's directors for months. A yikes take.
Where are the good sales btw or it's only proper to talk about Berta after an incoming transfer (one brokered by Kia, one of the biggest names in football business, who 100% skinned us alive)?
I wasn't questioning Edu's signings. I was talking about the apparent approach to negotiations.
Recruitment strategy and negotiating strategy aren't the same thing. If Berta is proving to be more valuation-led, that doesn't diminish what Edu achieved.
Early doors. But eh, but looks like he is cooking. A PL and a CL final. Give him a couple of full seasons...wow wow wow eh.
The .com has deteriorated. You have to click through multiple links just to get the match fixtures and I can't even see what time zone it's listed in. It takes several seconds for the page to load. My bookmarks to the home page was broken for a long time, but they've finally put a redirect in. I'm a developer and that changeover looks like a shambles.
Recall most estimates here had Bruno at 70M+whatever, weeks ago.
Berta hit the target squarely.
You don't recall that right, friend
£80-85 was the walk-away point for the vast majority
Many suggested that £70 million bid last week, was almost performative and time wasting.

Think of Bruno as a bridge to further silverware-- as Myles becomes the polished, finished article. Feels more akin succession planning for me.
Alonso reportedly wanting Zubimendi at Chelsea !
Should we sell? How much?
Recoup some on Madueke deal?
You do know Declan Rice has been dealing with Neural hamstrings and there is no way he can continue doing these crazy minutes?
Declan Rice played a total of 5,394 minutes across 69 matches for club and country combined during the 2025–26 season.
That's no longer possible with sciatic nerve irritation.
So, NO hell will freeze over before we sell Zubi.
100million and they can have him. About time we steal from those thieves…for once

Or maybe we retain some image rights (but less than Madrid) to offset the high salary?
Btw, does anyone know what Arsenal do with image rights for our current players?
I hope he can walk on water .
That’s (G)Jesus!
But he's leaving... Hopefully 🤞
I'm really looking forward to seeing Bruno playing at right back.
For us Yanks, the match will be shown live on CBS Sports Network this afternoon.
Also on Fubo
That site is an accessibility nightmare. Anyway - good read in the Guardian on Heccy B
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/aug/05/hector-bellerin-arsenal-mikel-arteta-real-betis
..but then they made it free for all on YT! IF you'd find out in time that is...
Interesting read, Pedro.

The Berta approach lol.
When did we overpay for a player under Edu btw?

Raporta, you've made my point for me.
Lovethat lots.

Maybe the club are working on a Claude/GPT skill that will give us all the information our hearts desire.
It didn't even load full home page yesterday lol
Peanuts to upgrade the infrastructure esp when digital is way to go
